“He works in your field, right?”

“He’s an engineer, like me,” she said. “He was on the team that developed the design for Cherise’s arm. I’m not angry like I was before, though. Only my pride was hurt. Everything else is intact. All things considered, it was a near miss. He and Kayleigh did me a favor. A public, embarrassing, ego-crushing favor. Very generous of them. I’m grateful.”

Drew shifted in the bed, rolling her over on top of him. “And I’m glad.”

“About what?” Jenna positioned herself, and her sensual wiggling felt so good.

He adjusted their position so that she was settled right exactly where he needed her. She gasped as he pulsed his hips up against her. “I’m glad you’re not hung up on him,” he said. “Because I don’t want to share.”

She looked startled. “Um. Wow.”

They stared at each other for a long moment, and Jenna’s expression changed, as the ever-present heat between them surged.

She placed her hands against his chest and pushed herself until she was sitting up, straddling him. Tossing the cover back so it landed on his legs. Shoulders back. Eyes on his, full of fire. Full of invitation as she reached down, caressing his stiff, aching length.

She placed her other hand on his chest. “I can feel your heart. In both places.”

Drew covered her hand with his own, pressing it. Then he seized her hips, lifting her up so he could position himself beneath her. She danced over him until they got the angle right, and she let out a low, wordless moan as she took him inside, sinking down with shivering slowness into her tight, clinging heat.

Together they found the perfect surging rhythm. He was desperate to explode inside her, and he also wanted this to last forever. Every point of contact was as sweet as a deliberate kiss. He went for all of them with deep, gliding strokes. Seeking out everything that made her melt and moan, the power building in her body.

She cried out, throwing her head back, convulsing over him, and just in time because his own climax was rumbling in his head, a landslide about to come down on him. Huge and inevitable.

It overtook him. Blotted out the world.

Some unmeasurable interval of time later, they drifted back to normal consciousness together. She was draped over his chest, kissing it.

“I knew it would be good with you,” she murmured. “I just had no idea how good. My imagination didn’t go that far.”

“Same with me,” he admitted.

He was taken aback when she looked up and laughed. “Oh, please,” she said. “Seriously, Drew? With your history?”

“What history is that?”

“Come on,” she scoffed. “With all the famous beauties that you swan around with on the red carpets and the luxurious yachts?”

He jerked up off the pillow. “What does that have to do with anything? A lot of women have been associated with me. That doesn’t mean I had satisfying relationships with them. Or great sex. Or that I felt intimate with them. That’s never come easy to me. Women complain that I can’t open up. But with you, I can. It’s different with you.”

Jenna propped her head on her arms to study him. It was as if her beautiful eyes stared straight into his mind. All that sharp intelligence focused on him, trying to distinguish truth from bullshit. Trying to decide if he was for real. He was on trial.

He stared back. “I have never felt this way,” he said. “Never. About anyone. That is not a slick, calculated line. I swear to God, I am being straight with you.”

Jenna slowly reached out both hands, cupping his face, stroking it gently with her fingertips, from his cheekbones to his jaw. She gave him a misty smile, and nodded.

“Okay,” she whispered. “I believe you.”

It was as if the chains broke loose inside him, all at once. He pulled her close, and off they went again.

Like nothing on earth could hold them back.
