“I must go, but I shall return as soon as I have news,” she said, and Kin nodded, their fingers lingering in a touch, as he imagined holding her in his arms.
“I have fallen so very much in love with you,” he said, and she smiled.
“And I have fallen in love with ye, too, and a mere cell door, nor my father, nor anyone else, will stand in the way of that,” she replied.
Now, Kin watched as Murdina hurried off along the passageway, calling for the jailer to let her out of the dungeons. All Kin could do was wait, hoping beyond hope that the ring would prove its worth…
