"Fuck it," he muttered, placing his hands under my ass and picking me up, carrying me down the hall as he attacked my mouth. Dropping me on the bed, he unbuttoned my pants, then he roughly pulled both my jeans and panties off me. "The house just went up for sale!" She exclaimed.
"That's awesome, baby." I smiled to myself. I was so ready to continue on this amazing journey that we had begun that I could barely hide my excitement.
"Yep, the agent just left. She assured me it should sell rather quickly."
I could hear the happiness in her voice, and it filled me with a warmth I hadn't felt in a long time.
"So, I guess that means you'd better start packing."
"Oh, yeah, I sort of forgot about that.” She giggled. “Did you want to come by after work and give me a hand?"
I smiled to myself at the excitement in her voice. Things had been going so well between us, and when we found we were spending all of our time with one another, it no longer made sense for us both to keep our own places. She agreed, and since my place was bigger, she agreed to put hers on the market.
"I can, but you better get a head start because, if I know us, we probably won't get a ton of packing done once I get there." We’d never been able to keep our hands off one another. we were like teenagers whenever we got together.
Her laughter filled my ear. "You are so bad." She giggled.
"Okay, sweetie, I've got to run. I'll be right over after work. Love you."
"Love you too. be safe."
I hung up from the call, pocketing my phone, and pulled my truck into a parking spot in front of the store I'd been heading to. I cut the engine and leaned forward, looking up at the dark-blue sign, and swallowed hard.Maddison Jewelers. I never thought that this day would come again for me. I took a minute, debating on calling Tom or Pace to see if they could meet me here, but then changed my mind. I hadn’t mentioned anything to anyone that I was doing this. I figured it was better this way. I took a breath and climbed out of the truck, a knot forming in my stomach, and made my way to the door.
The little bells that hung on the top of the door jingled away as I pulled the door open, notifying the clerks that they had a new customer. A girl looked up from the counter and smiled at me. She was busy with another customer and asked them to give her a minute. "Can I help you with something?" She asked.
I stepped inside and walked over to the counter. "I'm wondering if you could show me some engagement rings?" I asked, swallowing hard. The couple she was serving looked up at me and I gave them both a nervous smile.
"Sure, they are right over in that display across the way. Give me a few minutes and I will be right over."
