"I have a surprise for you," he says with a smile.

"Another one?" I raise my eyebrow in surprise. "But you already gave me a Christmas present!"

This morning he gave me beautiful new La Perla lingerie made of burgundy lace. It’s so much more beautiful than the one he tore off me yesterday. And I have no idea when he got it.

"It's not exactly a present," he says and reaches into his jacket pocket.

He takes out a few pages stapled together and hands them to me.

When I open them to take a look, my eyes widen in surprise.

It's a contract. A real job offer to be the head of the marketing office in his company.

I can't believe it.

I look at Jack to see if it's some kind of joke, but he isn’t smiling.

"Is it because…" I stop. No, I can't say that. I can't ask him if he’s offering me a job because we’re sleeping together.

"You deserve it, Crystal," he says confidently, as if he can read my mind, looking deeply into my eyes. "You are smart and talented. Never doubt yourself again."

I feel like my eyes are getting wet. I don't read the whole twelve pages, but my quick glance shows me my salary would triple.

"I…I…I don't know what to say," I mumble, looking at the contract and then at him again.

"You don't have to sign it right now. You can think about it for a couple of days; maybe you want to consult with your lawyer."

I don't have a lawyer,I think, but decide not to say it aloud.

"Okay, I'll read it tomorrow," I say with a smile and place the papers into my bag. "Today is Christmas and you promised to show me the city."

"And I will. Are you hungry?" he asks, brushing back my unruly hair from my face.

I shake my head. "After you made me eat a whole omelet for breakfast, I'm sure I can abstain until dinner."

He smiles. "Well, maybe you can, but I can’t."

Jack wraps his arms around my waist, leans into my neck, and inhales deeply.

Goose bumps cover my skin at that.

I can't believe he's aroused again.

"And where do you want to eat?" I ask in a rough voice, although I know that he's not talking about food.

"In our room," he whispers right into my ear and then kisses my neck gently.

He wants to get me back to bed. And I feel like I want that too.

"But we haven't seen the city yet," I protest, but for some reason, I bend my head to the side and expose my neck for him to have better access.

"It's just New York; it's in every movie," he continues, covering my neck in kisses.

I laugh. "That's because you've been here a thousand times!"

I place my palms on his chest to push him away, but he doesn't give in, pressing me closer to his chest.

"To be honest, I haven't seen anything either because I’m working every time I come here." His warm lips are traveling lower, to my collarbones. "We'll explore the city together next time, I promise."
