Josie grinned, liking the idea of some fun girl time. “Why the heck not?”

“Great, hop in!”

She began to text Max as soon as she was settled in the car. She explained that she was on her way into Denver with Sandy and that he should not expect her back until late afternoon. She tucked her phone away and told her friend all about the moth larvae in the closet.

Sandy shuddered dramatically. “I loathe any kind of bug infestations, ugh, how horrible! Neither of you have had much luck since you moved in together, have you? Youarehappy, right? It’s not like some cosmic sign that you two shouldn’t be together or something?”

“Nah, I love Max. You’ve seen him, for goodness’ sake, he’s totally gorgeous!” Josie was shocked that Sandy should think they weren’t suited.

“Yeah, you’re right, you two seem to be made for each other, I can see that!”

Josie worried that Sandy was simply placating her and actually believed that she and Max weren’t meant to be.

“Hey, there’s a black SUV with darkened windows! D’you think that could be the same car that ran you off the road?”

Josie glanced over at the car waiting to pull out of the Medical Center.

“Nah, that’s Marcus Devon’s car…” She fell silent. Could it possibly be? Surely not! Marcus Devon? Nah, he was a doctor, everyone trusted him. Her grandparents liked him. She was being paranoid.

“You think it might have been him, don’t you?” Sandy asked quietly.

“I-I don’t know. When I first met him he seemed to have it in for me but then after the car accident he was real nice and… Oh, holy shit!”

“Youdothink it was Marcus Devon!?”

“I really don’t know, Sandy. All I can tell you is that I’m real suspicious of the guy.”

Sandy fell silent, then she chatted, but when Josie didn’t respond with more than a monosyllabic reply, she tuned in the radio and sang along to that. Eventually Josie joined in with her and by the time they hit the outskirts of Denver they were buoyed up, all ready to shop.

Sandy drove them over to Market Street and parked. They walked over to Larimer Square where the old Victorian type shops and quaint boutiques kept the two of them happily browsing for a couple of hours. They lunched in a cute coffee shop before roaming the streets in the direction of a discreetly hidden boutique that Sandy assured Josie catered for women with a taste for more risqué clothing.

There were so many outfits to choose from. Josie decided to stay away from any fetware decorated with chains and fringes of leather. She preferred the softer, kittenish look and she wasn’t disappointed. There was so much choice. Giggling, they both decided to try out a leather outfit more suited to a Domme. Josie chose a dark red tight fitting concoction, complete with a devil’s tail. Sandy went for a black wet look skintight outfit that left her breasts exposed. She produced her cell and took a selfie encouraging Josie to do the same—which she did, texting it to Max immediately. Her phone pinged almost instantly.

In your dreams baby—there is only one Dominant in our house and that is me!

She grinned as she peeled the devil outfit off. Next on was a kitten suit with cute ears set on a headband. The costume also had a tail but the cut out back left her buttocks fully exposed. Josie knew that Max would love it, but she had her eye on a sleek little number in cerise pink. Quickly she took a selfie and sent it to Max, then changed into the pink. Oh, she liked that. She liked it a lot. She took another picture and pinged that one off to Max as well.

Her phone chimed. She sat on the bench in the changing room and read Max’s text.

The kitten outfit is perfect for the spanking you have coming for taking off and upsetting your grandmother and for leaving me to deal with these bugs! I like both—get ’em—my treat!

She smiled and switched off her phone. “Sandy?”

“Yeah?”

“You found anything you want?”

“Nah, I’m not buying today. I have so many great things from here already. What have you decided on?”

They met outside the changing rooms and Josie showed her friend her choices. “I texted Max and he said to buy both of them!”

Sandy whistled. “Lucky you! Does he have any idea of the prices they charge here?”

Josie reddened; in her excitement she’d forgotten to look at the price tags. She peered at the cost of the kitten outfit. “Sheesh! Well, the manismy Dominant and he said to get them, so what the heck?”

They paid for her goods and left the shop.

“D’you like salsa dancing?” Sandy suddenly asked.
