I twist away from his touch. “I’m not invisible like you. And I like my life. No need for some asshole to cut it short.”

“You realize these things are meant to cover your whole stomach.”

“And ruin my fashion statement? No, thank you.”

“What are you not telling me, Luna?”

The way he says my name has my body heating. I like it way too much.

“Why are you here, Fin?” I mock him in the same strained tone.

“To protect you.”

I scoff. “There’s a first time for everything.”

His head snaps back before his eyes darken. I regret my word choice immediately.

“Let’s get this straight. I’m not going anywhere.” He steps up to me, his chest pushing into my slim frame. “You’re going to be stuck with me until I say otherwise.” The intensity of his stare burns into me, and my breath catches. “I have no intention of ever letting you go now.”

A shiver runs through me, and his eyes light when he feels it. His large frame moves lower, his lips hovering over my ear. “I know you can feel it too, Luna.”

Again with my name. A weaker version of myself might have given in, but I refuse to. He doesn’t get to cut me out of his life, then reappear because it’s convenient for him. Fin O’Conner is too selfish to have friends. The difference between us—he has a history of other people falling dead around him while he stays alive and as handsome as ever. People don’t work with him, because they’re scared.

“What are you scared of? I have a hard time believing it’s the rumors about me.”

I gulp, his presence making my senses go haywire.

“I’m scared of nothing.” I huff.

Except for you stealing my heart once again and destroying it.

I step back to give myself more space.

“That’s the girl I know.” He looks at my bed, then back at me. “Good thing I like to cuddle.” He chuckles, and I can feel the blood drain from my face.

“No. We’re not sharing my bed. You have your own.”

He completely ignores me and flops down onto the sheets. “I’ve never minded a twin bed.” He takes up the whole mattress. I don’t see how it would even be possible to fit me in there unless I’m lying on top of him. My eyes go wide, the strain of my expression stretching across my entire face.

“No.” I point my gun at him, but he doesn’t even flinch. No eye twitch, no muscle strain, nothing.

“I’ve missed you.” He sighs, sounding almost dreamy.

What the fuck?

I bring my gun to his crotch. I rub it against what I’m assuming is his dick. I know it’s not his thigh.

“I’ve been at this game longer than you. Don’t test me,” he says with his eyes closed. His tone sounds bored, and it annoys the hell out of me. I move the gun up and down. My finger could easily pull the trigger. The pad of my finger lightly traces the metal.

Before I decide if I can go through with it, to make my point loud and clear, he grips my wrist.

The sudden action catches me off guard, and he pulls me to the bed. He straddles my legs and places my wrists above my head, restraining me.

My gun clatters to the floor.

Fin

WhatIlovemostabout Luna is her self-assuredness. She gives no fucks about what I think. It’s refreshing. The gun she slides against my cock only gets me harder. The look of determination on her face is sexy as hell. Her fiery attitude has always turned me on. Back then, I tried to rein it in. But now, we’re both consenting adults. I grab her wrists, her pulse strumming against my fingers. I want to kiss her but settle for tossing her under me.
