He wanted that power. Raze wasn’t going to deny that. Probably not for the reason she was thinking of, though. He wanted to be strong to protect her, to keep her close, to make sure that no one ever had the chance to rip her away from his side again.

And to do that?

He needed his faction’s talisman.

He needed that key.

“Sam,” he prodded when his brother’s gaze landed on Becca again. “What about the talisman?”

“Oh. Right. The talisman. I know where it is.”

“So do we—”

“And I know how to get it.”

Well, that was new.

“What? Really? How’s that?”

Sam cleared his throat, a strange expression twisting his features for a second before he banished it. It was a dark look, Raze noticed, but he knew Sam better than he knew most beings. The look wasn’t for Becca, but what she represented.

Which was why he wasn’t the least bit surprised when Sam said, “We’re gonna steal it from Lucifer. And I have just the thief in mind...”
