Her eyes widened. It had the effect of making her even more alluring, a fact that Raze was sure she was completely oblivious to. “Are you offering me a job at your casino?”
“It’s the best way to shield you. There are rules here. In the hotel… in the casino, you’d be safe.”
“And I can earn my own way if you’d let me. That’s all I want,” she said, her voice dropping to a murmur. “I just want a second chance.”

“I can always use more servers. Can you take an order? A drink order?”
“Um. Yeah. I’m sure I can.”
“Then you’re hired.”
“And you’ll protect me from Lucifer?” Becca asked.
Raze tapped his pointer finger against the tabletop before gesturing to the scrap of paper she was still holding onto. “Toss that my way and we’ve got a deal.”
A giddy laugh escaped his pretty soulmate as she slid it toward him. “Gladly.”
