I breathe out, lowering my head. “Nice?”
“Yes.” She strokes me, smiling as if she has me in the palm of her hands.
Which she does.
“I’m glad you approve.” I lock in my stamina as she draws her hand down my length. “Fu-u-ck.”
“What’ll happen if I keep doing this?” She firms up her grip and tugs a little harder.
I grab her wrist and pull her hand away. “Sorry, but I’m afraid you’re not going to find out.” I stare into her challenging eyes, unable to believe I’m stopping her. “Not tonight.”
Her eyebrow arches. “Do I frighten you, Brett?”
“Fuck.” I gaze down at her challenging eyes. “You kinda do.”
“Is that why you stop me all the time? You’re afraid?”
My hand tightens on her wrist. “It’s not me I’m worried about.”
Her head tilts. I stay with her eyes, fearful of venturing to any other part of her body.
“Then what are you worried about?”
“I’m concerned about what will happen.” I pull her body against mine. “When I show you my power.”
She searches my eyes. “What makes you think I haven’t seen it already? Like you’ve seen mine?”
I grin, reach down, pick up her jacket, and hand it to her. “Oh, I can guarantee you haven’t.”
She rips the jacket from my hand and hastily puts it on.
She ties the belt around her waist and raises her chin. “How long are we going to play this game?”
“It’s not a game.”
“It sure feels like one.”
“Maybe that’s the problem.”
“You have all kinds of excuses, don’t you?”
“No.”
“Sure, you do. First, it’s I’m not ready. Now, it’s you’re not ready.”
“I didn’t say I’m not ready.”
“Then show me your power, Brett.”
“It’s late. How about we call it a night?”
“Screw you!” She spins on her heels, stomps to the elevator, crosses her arms over her chest, and waits for me to punch in the code.
Cassie Redmon is used to getting what she wants. Tonight, it’s me. But I need to go slow with her. I need to take my time.
She enters the elevator and turns around, the blue in her eyes fighting to escape her dark mode.
“Good night,” I say with a grin.
