“Just getting ready to go steal some royal jewels,” I said.

“I’m not sure it counts as stealing if they belong to your family and you’re not actually planning to keep them,” he said.

“That’s a good point. I hope you know, I have zero interest in being royal,” I said.

“That’s a plus in my book.” He entered the room and sat down on the bed. Pink throw pillows shifted and Alec pushed them aside. Nobody was staying in the room and the bed was meticulously made with a floral quilt and dozens of pastel pillows.

I moved some of the pillows aside and joined Alec on the bed. He pulled me closer to him and I nestled into his warmth. His presence, his touch, and his scent were calming. I let myself soak in a few moments of him before my libido began to rise.

Frustrated, I jumped off the bed. My wolf protested. Now that Tyler was out of the picture, she was ready to move on. No mourning period necessary. Not that my human half needed it, but it was a surprise after all the trouble my wolf had caused me.

“I better go. Spencer moved up the timeline,” I said.

“I know. I came to wish you luck.”

“I hate that you can’t go with me,” I admitted.

“Don’t worry, I won’t miss out on the main event,” he said with a grin.

My brow furrowed. “And what is that?”

“When you claim your pack and take down Ace,” he said.

My stomach twisted into knots. “One thing at a time.”
