She shifts and drops her gaze from me. I can tell she’s keeping something from me. Gently, I lift her chin so she’s looking at me. “Tell me. Whatever it is. Tell me.”

She blows out a breath. “It’s worse than you know.”

“I’m here,” I say.

“He’s been visiting me in dreams,” she says. “And he’s not going to stop till he has me. He won’t let me win the pass.”

“We’ll have to find a way around it, then,” I say.

She shakes her head. “I have to win the pass. I’ve got another royal on my case.”

Quickly, she explains what happened during her visit with the Princess of Glass and I listen. My hands are balled into tense fists by the time she’s done. I want to hurt them all. “We have to get you out of here.”

“You think you can hide me from two demon royals who want me? Lucinda Drake killed my mother. What makes you think I can outsmart her?”

I can feel the frustration coming from Harper in waves. It’s tinged with anger, not fear. She’s a fighter and she wants to win this. I know it.

“You have a plan,” I guess. There’s no way she’d be this focused and angry without one. She doesn’t have even the slightest sense of worry.

“We do,” she says. “It’s stupid, but it’s something.”

“You and Cardale?” I ask.

“And Liam and Sadie, my roommate,” she says.

“I want in, whatever it is,” I say.

“It’s insane,” she says.

“I can bring Damon,” I say with a grin.

She laughs. It’s good to see her laugh. “What is it?”

“We’re going to summon some monsters so I can use magic to try to gain points,” she says.

“It is insane,” I say.

“Yeah,” she agrees.

“I’m in, though,” I say. “And I do think we should bring Damon. In case things get out of control, I don’t want you hurt.”

“I’ll take whatever help I can get right now.” She pushes me down and climbs on top of me. “But let’s not talk about your brother right now.”

I don’t get to agree before her mouth is on mine. My cock hardens and I groan into the kiss. I’m ready for round two.

“Hey, Corbin,” Damon calls just as I hear the door open.

Harper screams and rolls off me, grabbing a sheet to cover herself. I glare at my twin.

He looks like he’s trying not to laugh as he stands in the doorway. “Maybe you should have hung a sock on the doorknob?”

“What do you want?” I ask.

“I came to ask you if you’ve seen Harper.” He takes his eyes off me and moves his gaze to her. “Her roommate wouldn’t leave me alone at breakfast. Kept asking where she was.”

Harper’s cheeks are pink and I’m surprised she’s not screaming at Damon for barging in on us.

“Shit.” She hops off the bed, still clutching the sheet. I get a look at her bare ass for a moment before she wraps the sheet all the way around her.
