He narrows his eyes at me and locks the screen. “For the last time, she’s not my girlfriend.”

He’s almost thirteen now and has really been showing his little attitude. However, he’s still a good kid. Six months ago, Fancy officially became his, and she was moved into the other barn, where he now takes full responsibility for her.

“But you somehow knew who I was referring to?” I arch a brow.

“Stop,” he warns.

I wrap my arm around his shoulders and make a mess out of his hair, which only annoys him further. “No matter what, you’ll always be my little buddy.”

He scoffs.

“Ouch, you hurt my feelings.” I pretend to be upset and stick out my lower lip, pouting. He rolls his eyes with a grin and bumps me with his shoulder.

Standing, I leave him alone to talk to his friend and start picking up dirty plates and empty soda cans.

“Don’t work too hard, wifey. I need you to save some energy for tonight.” Payton leans in, nibbling on my ear.

I snort. “What was that, hubby?”

“You heard me.”

“Only if you’re a good boy.” I waggle my brows.

He smacks my ass before walking away. Even though we got married six months ago, I’m still obsessed with hearing him call me his wife.

We had the perfect fall wedding. The ceremony was beautiful, and the whole day felt surreal. I still can’t believe this is my life and I married my best friend.

After another hour of chatting, people start heading out and saying goodbye. I’m so grateful they were all able to make it. When Kaylee gets fussy from her sugar crash, we put her in the car seat, and she falls asleep before we make it home.

Payton carefully takes her out and carries her inside without waking her up—a skill I haven’t quite mastered yet. I grab all the gift bags and bring them into the house.

Once Kaylee is in her crib, Payton walks into the living room and sits next to me on the couch.

“She’s gettin’ heavy,” he says. “I still can’t believe she’s one already. How’d that happen?”

“I have no idea, but at this rate, she’ll be driving soon,” I pout, realizing how much my baby has grown in the past year.

“I never realized how fast kids grow up until I had my own,” he says, leaning his head back on the cushion and meeting my eyes. “Have I told you how much I love you today?”

“Not yet. But I’m listening.”

PAYTON

“I love you more than I did yesterday. More than words could ever express. I love you more than spaghetti and homemade meatballs,” I tell her.

She snickers. “I dunno if I’d go that far. Maize’s cookin’ is pretty elite.”

A moment later, Kaitlyn stands and climbs onto my lap. She rocks against my groin, and my cock grows hard with anticipation.

“Fuck,” I groan, keeping my voice low and squeezing her hips.

“I have somethin’ to tell you.” Kaitlyn removes her shirt and throws it on the floor. I lean forward, unsnapping her bra and then sucking on a nipple.

“Is this what you wanted to tell me?” I waggle my brows after I come up for air. Right now, I want to lick her all over.

“No.” She places her hands on both sides of my cheeks, forcing me to look into her eyes.

I wait with bated breath, her throat moving as she swallows hard as if she’s nervous.
