I laugh, knowing the next time I see Mandi I’ll have a million questions to answer. “Have fun, you two. Too bad there’s not an extra ticket.”

“Yeah, too bad,” Mandi murmurs.

“Nice meeting you, Noah. Wish us luck,” Clara says.

After a wave, I stand there until they disappear through the glass sliding doors.

“Sir! Sir!” The airport attendant rushes over. “You can’t park here.”

“I’m going. I’m going.”

I strip my eyes from Mandi and Clara, almost wishing I was going on vacation with them. Not because of the grandmas but because I wouldn’t mind seeing Mandi in a bathing suit. I bet all her curves would look hot as fuck. Then my mind floods with images of what her style might be. Starting the engine of my truck, I attempt to shake off the visions in my head of a scantily clad Mandi.

I mean, I’ve always thought it was amazing to see different things, experience a bunch of cultures, and meet all kinds of people. But lately, those things don’t fill the need inside me to be surrounded by people who truly know and care for me. But even that’s hard to find in Alaska when your parents and your grandma can’t be in the same room together. Speaking of, while Grandma is gone, I might as well go to dinner with my parents.
