“See what?” He inches closer to me. “Tell me what you see.”

I close my eyes. “I see us together. Lazy Sundays in bed, walks along the bay, movie nights together.”

“Ah, you see all the things Sunrise Bay offers.”

I open my eyes. “What do you see?”

“You with me on excursions. You in a bikini on an exotic beach. Or bundled up with ten layers out in the snow, complaining about how cold it is and me promising to get you warm when we get back to our cabin. The fireplace roaring, hot cocoas in our hands, and you naked in my arms.”

“Two very different lives,” I say with a frown.

“Yeah, they are.” He sounds pained when he says it.

This wedding better come quickly so he can go on an excursion and we can get some distance from one another, otherwise I’m going to fall into bed with the man. Or worse, in love.
