“Oh, good idea. Should we take more?”

“Kiss my cheek?” I say and snap a picture. “Now lean your head on my shoulder.” I click another picture.

I take a few more of just her with the beautiful view behind her. Afterward, we take some very cheesy pictures with our hands in the shape of hearts in shadow.

“Truth?” I ask her.

She nods. “Yeah.”

“I didn’t want those only for Instagram. I wanted to remember this moment. When it’s all over and I’m out of your life.”

She smiles and takes my phone, sending the pictures to herself. “Me too.”

We leave shortly after and head down the mountain to play make-believe. I can’t speak for Mandi, but it’s becoming harder to continue the charade because I’m pretty sure I’m falling for my fake fiancée.

I take her hand, but her phone ringing interrupts us.

She picks it up and says, “I’m sorry—what? Okay, we’re on our way.” She hangs up. “Posey’s in labor.”

I guess I know what my night’s going to entail. Family time with the Greenes. The funny thing is, it doesn’t sound so bad.
