He dug the ridge of his thumb against the spot, making stars appear before her eyes as she rested her head back on his shoulder. He didn’t need to work her hard, she was already so wet that he lifted her right leg, making her rest it against the bathroom sink. He wasn’t even going to take her panties off this time. It excited her how much he couldn’t wait to be inside of her again. It excited her that he wasn’t hesitating, wasn’t treating her like she was some frail thing, that he was touching her exactly where she wanted him to touch her at the moment that she needed the spot touched. How could he know her body better than she did?

He pushed into her slowly, letting her walls fit themselves around him. She was trembling again, the starts turning into a kaleidoscope of colors as he kept her in place, arms still wrapped tightly around her. She wanted to plead with him, speak her mind, shout his name, but her throat was unable to form words as they began moving together.

Then he placed his hand gently under her chin, making her move her head from his shoulder until their eyes met in the mirror. She watched him fucking her, eyes on his, then gaze gliding over her own body, displayed in the mirror. Then at where they were joined, his cock glistening as it slid out of her, only to push back in.

By the time her orgasm took her, she was whimpering again, and he pushed on her chin to make her turn her head and meet his lips with hers in a deep kiss.

Chapter 17 - Zeke

He’d woken early, unable to go back to sleep. He’d watched her for a while, then had found it weird that he was staring at her as she slept and had gotten out of bed, choosing the purple chair to sit and stare in. Whatever was going to come of the day’s excursions, he wanted nothing more than to keep her safe.

It was a selfish want because he genuinely didn’t care about anyone else. If the ruling heads met their demise, then they would have brought it on themselves, but Anna wasn’t to take the brunt of their mistakes.

He couldn’t protect her.

It was gnawing at him.

He would have to trust that she knew what she was doing and that she’d be able to get the cell phone on her own. The chances that he was going to be allowed to stay by her side for the delivery were slim to none.

They’d fallen asleep late, unable to stop exploring each other until the later hours of the night, and still he decided to wake her earlier than necessary. Because he wanted to hear her voice, see her face, be with her for an extra hour before they were parted. Because they would be parted now. They both knew it.

And he knew he loved her.

He’d heard of people who fell in love in a day or two and he’d never believed it was possible, but now that there was no reason for him to deny her; he’d found himself embracing all of her in warp speed. And he felt gratitude towards his father for making the decision for him.

It had never been a mistake.

The only mistake had been him not replying to the note she sent him.

It had made him close down. Looking back, he knew it was the truth.

So, once she’d gotten her bearings and wasn’t quite so bleary-eyed, he told her, “When I got your note, I wasn’t ready.”

“I know,” she replied.

“But here’s something you might not know—I didn’t say anything, didn’t write an answer or anything at all because I wanted to be ready. I think I loved you, I just didn’t know how to love you and stay out of the life.”

She nodded slowly.

“I didn’t know that then,” she said. “But I know it now.”

Then she paused as his words properly hit home, eyes searching his.

Yes, he thought. That’s right.

“I’m ready now,” he said. “To love you. And to be in this life, whatever that means. It’s whatever we make it, right?”

She nodded again, the impact his words were having making him lean forward, catching her lips with his in a soft kiss.

Finally, that teased a smile out of her. She placed her hands on either side of his face and kissed him back, just as soft.

“Yes, it is,” she agreed.

And perhaps there were people listening, perhaps not, but Zeke cared even less than he had the night before.

An hour later there was a knock at the door.

Showtime.
