“Oh, God,” she breathed, bucking against him.

She loved it when he licked her deep and hard. He’d learned where he should apply pressure and where he should linger a little longer. He knew when to pick up his speed by the rapidity of her breathing. He knew when to add fingers and when to hold off on combining touch and tongue.

She was sopping wet and he wanted to taste her, so he traded fingers for tongue, slipping it into her. She rolled her hips against his face in response, a reward as good as anything else she could do. But then she was gasping and moaning and sending his entire body firing. The longing she produced even when she was on his tongue was incredible to him. He needed to be inside of her, joined with her.

He was hard again and moved his mouth so he could fill her, sinking in deep thanks to how slick she was, fitting himself on top of her. Her hands were on his shoulders, her head leaned back as they moved together, hips rolling as if they were one person. His mouth found hers in an almost desperate kiss, wanting him to know how much she affected him. Always.

Her hands slipped into his hair, down to his shoulders, down to the small of his back, her erratic movements just as desperate. They were lost in each other, brought somewhere beyond the bed, the room, the apartment, the city. Everything else faded away as they climbed to orgasm together.

He knew they were both lit up from within, their inner dragons dancing together in something eternal, something that was the stuff of souls.

A burst of light in front of his eyes and he came hard, gasping in her ear, feeling her tremble beneath him. His mouth still on hers, ending the kiss slowly as they began to come back off the high.

He wondered.

Would they have children soon? He was craving it more than he’d expected. He knew she wanted children too. She wouldn’t have to give away the mantle if she had sons. Her father had already promised it to her. He wanted to stay in the seat for a little while longer, but he’d told her soon at the bonding ceremony. In dragon years, soon might mean anything from five years to five hundred, but Dmitri had a feeling Semyon Kumarin was tired of the rule. He was ready to step back. He just wanted to see their bond firmly formed first.

It's formed, Dmitri thought to himself, running his fingers over Alina’s temple before pressing a gentle kiss to the spot. And nothing is ever going to break it.

She turned her head to him, resting her gaze in his, looking as though she’d just heard his thought. Or had the same one. A small smile on, fingers through his hair.

“I love you,” she said.

“I love you too,” he murmured.

Forever.
