A hand snuck on me from behind. It went down from my neck to my chest. I knew who it was before I even looked at her. I tilted my head back, and Amy’s breasts were basically in my face. If I stuck my tongue out, I could lick them.

“Hey, I brought you something,” she purred and showed me a bottle of vodka.

“No, thanks. I’m not drinking.”

She rounded the couch and stood in front of me. She wore a short skirt that barely covered her ass. Her tits were almost popping out of her top. She wasn’t wearing a bra, so I had a perfect view to her nipples. She was looking at me with determination that irritated me.

“Why? You’re always wasted on New Year’s.”

“I decided to try to get through it sober this year.”

Something caught her eye on the other side of the room, and Amy came closer. Almost climbing on top of me.

“You might reconsider.”

I knew what I was about to see the moment I noticed the smirk on her face. I sort of always knew this fascination Amy had with me wasn’t just about me. It had to do with Clementine. She wanted to fuck me because she thought it would hurt her.

I turned my head and I saw my beautiful nemesis. She was with Hannah. And unfortunately just like I thought, Dylan. He was slightly behind them looking around the room. Clem’s eyes were pinned on me and Amy. Her face showed no emotion; I gave her that.

It looked like she was waiting for me to touch Amy just to have a reason to tell herself she was doing the right thing by pushing me away. I wasn’t going to give her that satisfaction.

“Amy, get off of my face, would you?”

I didn’t even look at her when I said that. I was still looking at Clementine. I got up and went straight to them. I saw the horror on her face when I stopped right in front of her. I turned my gaze to Hannah.

“Spencer! Nice seeing you here.”

“Cole,” she smiled and nodded. “Let’s go get some drinks.” She pulled Dylan’s shirt and pointed to the kitchen. Smart girl.

I couldn’t help but smile when Clem realized Hannah was team Lucas. Her face became red. I wished it was from embarrassment and her feelings towards me, but I knew her. It was that irrational anger always lingering inside her body, waiting to explode.

“You’re welcome,” I teased.

“For what?” her voice was sharp, but she couldn’t tear her eyes away from me.

“For the necklace,” I drifted my gaze down. She was wearing a collar neck dress that made impossible to see if she was wearing it. My eyes lingered down her body, and she started stepping from foot to foot. She turned her gaze to the kitchen. I didn’t. I was looking only at her.

“Did you like it?” I asked.

“Lucas, can we just pretend nothing ever happened? Forget about everything?”

“No.”

She cocked her head sideways.

“No?”

“No,” I shrugged. “You said it yourself. We can’t stay away from each other anymore.” I took a step closer to her. Her pupils dilated. I loved how her body reacted to mine.

“You said it was hormones.”

I nodded. Of course I said that it was hormones. But my gift suggested something else. She knew it and she wanted that to disappear.

“In that case we could just focus on someone else?” she suggested.

“Like a threesome? You Hartleys seem to love them,” I joked. She rolled her eyes with a hint of smile on her lips.

“Like maybe you should pay some attention to Amy instead of me. She seems… interested.”
