My heart thudded violently against my chest. I didn’t know what to say or do. Hank was the man that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, he was the man that I wanted to raise Luna with, he was the man that I wanted to have more babies with, and I just couldn’t comprehend that that man was asking me to marry him.

“Is that a proposal or just an FYI situation?” I was only half-joking.

“I don’t have a ring and I will do it the right way. But I don’t want you to ever doubt what my intentions are. I’m going to marry you.”

“Oh, okay,” I responded lamely.

“Is that an answer or just an observation?”

I couldn’t help but smile. Hank was always so self-assured and confident that seeing a chink in his authoritative armor was adorable. “I guess you’ll find out when you do it the right way.”

“So that’s a yes,” he stated confidently.

I guess the chink was more of a ding then.

“Maybe,” I teased. “Only one way to find out.”

He leaned down to kiss me, but I pressed my hand to his chest. “Elizabeth.”

His brows lifted in confusion.

“My middle name, for when you ‘do it the right way’.”

The corners of his lips curled up as he closed his eyes and went back in for a kiss.

“Wait. What is your middle name?”

In my speech, when I’d declared my love for him, I hadn’t known his middle name.

“I’ll tell you and then I’m going to kiss you.” I could hear the desperation in his voice and it filled me with more joy than I could explain. “Deal?”

“Deal,” I agreed.

“Moonlight,” he said a millisecond before his lips crashed onto mine.

“Moon—” I started to repeat it but it was too late.

His kiss swept me away into his love. A place I was more than happy being. But I would definitely be revisiting the middle name bomb he’d just dropped on me at a later date and time. One when we were both fully clothed and he couldn’t distract me with his throw-down powers.
