“You can still leave,” Keyon said without turning to her.

He stood in the middle of the room, wearing only his undergarments. He took off his stockings, so Eloise could see his dark, muscled legs dusted with dark hair. Eloise swallowed as her gaze traveled higher to his broad, hard back.

Eloise shook her head, not in answer to him, but to resolve herself. “No, I want to help you.”

“As you wish.”

He slowly tugged off his drawers, and Eloise found her gaze riveted to his newly bared skin. His broad back narrowed at the waist, leading to his round, firm, and well-shaped bottom. She had a strange urge to walk toward him and bite him on his rump.

A chuckle left her, and Keyon turned to look at her. He only turned at the shoulder, but his slick movements, the glide of his muscles as he did so, kept her entranced.

“Help me into the bath,’’ he said.

Eloise swallowed and nodded. She ducked under his shoulder and let him lean into her as he climbed into the bath, trying to steel her eyes from devouring his naked form.

But her gaze had a mind of its own, and it couldn’t help but slide down his firm chest, his square abdominal muscles and lower toward the patch of hair and his male appendage. Eloise raised her eyes to his, unwilling to let herself explore him unashamedly. She didn’t want to take anything from him he wasn’t willing to give. And that included perusing his body.

Keyon smirked as Eloise raised her gaze, and her neck heated.

“I am s-sorry,” she stuttered, ashamed. “I did not mean to ogle you.”

“I don’t mind,” he said with a smirk. “Did you like what you saw?”

“I—” Eloise closed her eyes as he lowered himself into the water. Now he was completely exposed to her.

She turned away and took a pitcher of water to distract her wayward eyes. She raised it above his head with a questioning tilt of her brows. He nodded, and she poured some water down his head and shoulders as she spoke. “You have a beautiful body, yes.”

One side of Keyon’s mouth lifted up in a smirk. Eloise sat at the edge of a bath, feeling flustered. Hot waves of steam emanated from the bath, and she wondered if that was the reason for her discomfort or the naked man lying inside the bath. He threw his head back and closed his eyes, shifting to find a comfortable spot. He swallowed, the column of his throat working and drawing Eloise’s gaze.

His arms lay along the edge of the bath, tanned and strong, muscles bulging with every tiny movement of his fingers. His hair was slick with water and steam. She could see his parted knees as they protruded from the bath, and she couldn’t help but want to see more. She was drawn by his extremely masculine physique.

Eloise needed to distract herself fast. She looked around and picked up a sponge. That’s why she was here, wasn’t it? To help him bathe? She dipped the sponge in the water, and Keyon opened his eyes. He didn’t raise his head; he just watched her from beneath his lashes. He had incredibly thick eyelashes. It was especially obvious now that they were wet and dark from the bath.

Keyon sat up then, baring his full torso before her gaze, and Eloise’s mouth went dry. The water was streaming down his body in rivulets, outlining his masculine chest. He was dark, wide-shouldered, with a rippling chest and hard, flat abdomen. The bathwater covered his body past his belly button, but her gaze couldn’t help but venture lower, and she wondered what the rest of his body looked like beneath the murky water. She raised her eyes to his and saw mischief lurking in his eyes. He saw the direction of her eyes, and the scoundrel was laughing at her. Eloise felt her cheeks burn.

“How do I compare with other men you’ve seen?” He raised a brow, and Eloise pursed her lips.

Was he looking to stroke his ego, or was it his way of asking if she’d ever seen another man naked? He knew she’d never kissed a man before him, so Eloise decided to continue being upfront with him. “All the males I’ve seen naked were either from the history books or made out of marble. And honestly, compared to them, I prefer you.”

She smirked and looked at him beneath her lashes.

He didn’t laugh. His face was a stony mask. “Why?”

“Because you’re warm to the touch. And you’re breathing.”

Keyon smiled then. That crooked smile of his made a dimple appear at the corner of his mouth. She loved that smile. That bit of truth, she decided to keep to herself.

She lathered the sponge in soap and brought it to his arm. “May I?”

Keyon nodded. “You do not need to ask. I already gave you permission to bathe me.”

“Yes, but I do not want to catch you unaware. I do not want you to ever feel uncomfortable with my touch.”

Keyon looked at her with an inexplicable look in his eyes. “Your touch would never make me uncomfortable.”

“Last night, you said it confuses you.”

“I was drunk. You can’t take people seriously when they are drunk,” Keyon said with a smirk.
