“I do understand,” I replied as I got up from the desk, taking the laptop with me. “Don’t try to guess what other people are going through. And I don’t know how many times I have to say this to you… This job you have—that you earned—is important. You are where you are supposed to be. If your parents do not understand that, stop listening. Distance yourself. You are not a kid; you are a grown man…sometimes.”

“Hey—”

I slammed the door behind me and walked toward my room. As I got there, I felt my personal phone ring. The moment I saw the caller, I turned it off again. We all have our issues.

“Odette Wyntor vs Prime Minister Hermenegild!”

Others have said this is a war between the king and the prime minister.

That after the very public humiliation of King Galahad because of his application’s instant rejection while getting his Nationalism Identification, he is furious.

However, the true mastermind very well may be Odette Wyntor.

Our sources tell us that the king suddenly decided the day before to join the queen to get identification…after a private meeting he had with one of her personal advisors.

Not only that, but Odette Wyntor’s choice to not only wear black, but the broach of mourning has many people wondering…if this was her plot to sabotage the prime minister.

Correction Piece

Yesterday in our article:

“Odette Wyntor vs Prime Minister Hermenegild!”

We addressed the queen by her maiden name and later referenced her title as queen. This was a mistake, and therefore we will change the title to “Queen Odette vs Prime Minister Hermenegild!” This is a notice for transparency.

“The Tyrant Queen!”

Queen Odette is apparently treating all of her staff and help abhorrently. We have it on good authority that our new queen has the whole palace on pins and needles. Demanding they bring her exotic desserts, prepare milk baths, and massage her feet nearly three times a day.

Not only that, but she oftentimes complains about carrying the new royal heir, she misses her former body, and she wishes to go back to enjoying her favorite wines and foods. She is said to break out into emotional fits, leaving no one, not even the king, clear on what to do.

Millions of women are pregnant and suffering in third-world countries—some even dying—and the queen believes the sun and stars revolve around her.

Chapter 30

When I woke up in bed, I knew immediately where to find her. She had been craving one thing and one thing alone: ice cream. It was almost like water for her. I didn’t understand it. She had it with a side of everything, every day now!

Turning the corner, I saw the soft dim of the refrigerator lights.

“Odette!”

She jumped and turned around, holding the spoon full of it right at her mouth. You would have thought I had caught a child sneaking into a candy store the way she looked at me. I could only laugh.

“Odette, it is three in the morning!” I said to her.

“I wanted ice cream!” she said, and this was just…crazy.
