Noel’s mouth lifted in a grin. “I forgive you.”

“I do not deserve you.”

Her smile turned impish. “Not yet. However, if you continue striving, I believe you will soon.”

Ravencroft chuckled. “You are definitely a temptress sent by the devil to torment me.”

Noel gasped, clutching at her chest. “To torment?”

He rose and leaned over to kiss her. “Yes, with your kindness. Sweetness. Forgiveness. And hopefully with your love.”

“Mmm,” Noel murmured into the kiss.

He didn’t need to hope. Noel already loved Gregory.

Only she wasn’t ready to tell him quite yet.

Chapter Fourteen

Noel joined Ravencroftat the table as she watched him draw out sketches of her home. She frowned over a mistake and pulled the drawing closer. In fact, not a single room matched those in Reese’s townhome.

She pointed at the mistake. “You have drawn this room incorrectly.”

Ravencroft continued sketching. “Yes, I have. I am taking your advice and making fake drawings.”

Noel’s brows crinkled. “But won’t Lady L know you gave her false drawings?”

Ravencroft lifted his head. “How would she?”

“Because, you know.” Her hand fluttered in the air to hide her discomfort at talking about such a delicate subject.

“No. Please enlighten me.”

“She was Reese’s mistress,” Noel hissed.

Ravencroft chuckled, leaning back in the chair. “Yes, she was.”
