Ravencroft shook his head. “The blame only lies with my mother. You are not at fault but a victim of their nefarious dealings. I compliment you on your strength in enduring the cruelty and raising outstanding children. I only hope I can do the same with our children.” He raised Noel’s clasped hand with his and kissed her knuckles.

Lady Worthington smiled. “I believe you will.” Then she rose. “Come along, girls, we have much to do.”

She clasped her arm through Noel’s, making sure she left. As much as she wanted to remain by Gregory’s side, she understood she couldn’t. But it didn’t mean they couldn’t steal some time alone later. She winked at him and followed her family home.

Ravencroft smiled at Noel when she left. He kept his silly grin on his face, even after his brother punched him on the arm. A lightness filled his heart and all because of one spectacular lady.

“It is good to see you smiling again,” Dracott commented.

“Noel gives me every reason to,” Ravencroft said.

Dracott sighed. “Hell is still knocking on our door.”

Ravencroft grimaced. “Yes. However, I will not rest until I burn her down.”

“And every menace who works with her.”

“May they all burn,” Ravencroft swore.

Epilogue

“Itold you they aremeant for each other.” Noel slipped her arm through Ravencroft’s.

She always needed to touch him. She couldn’t wait until they were married, when she would touch and kiss him endlessly all day long.

Ravencroft shook his head. “You are delusional, my love. Look at how your sister glares at him. She obviously wants to scratch his eyes out.”

Noel laughed. “Her actions are false. When no one watches, she trails her eyes over him with longing. And Falcone follows Eden wherever she goes. Sizzling attraction fills the air, even clear over here.”

Ravencroft tugged her behind a set of columns. “What you are feeling is my desire to drag you away and seduce you with my kisses.”

Noel wrapped her hands around his neck. “Why, Lord Ravencroft, your suggestion is quite scandalous.”

He nipped at her neck. “But one my seductive temptress longs for.”

She tilted her head back to give him better access. “She also longs for words of utter devotion from her fiancé.”

“I believe I can arrange that if my fiancée will follow me into the gardens,” Ravencroft tempted.

Noel gasped. “Are you trying to cause a scandal at our engagement party?”

Ravencroft drew her lips into a kiss to show her how much of a scandal he would cause if she didn’t follow him. His tongue stroked across hers, and he bit at her bottom lip. “I want every day of our life filled with our scandalous love.”

Noel sighed into his kiss. “I believe I can arrange that.”

With a seductive smile, she tugged at his hand and led him into the garden where they shared a scandalous tryst full of gentle caresses, soft kisses, whispered moans, and tender expressions of their love.

It was a love that bloomed every day into eternity.
