The less chance of one of Stone's informants discovering my whereabouts and reporting my whereabouts back to him, the better. Nope, I was safe here. In my hotel, with my comforts and luxury.

I shrugged my sleek, fitted, navy woolen jacket, with a red silk handkerchief in the top pocket – my signature piece – over my broad shoulders, alongside a crisp white Oxford shirt that had quickly become my favorite brand. Tye introduced them to me back when we first met. In that chance meeting in a tailors shop nearly three years ago, it was as if someone had been watching over me. Mum maybe, I hoped, bringing us together. Even though I didn't know her, and only had Stone’s tales, my gut told me not to trust them.

I reached for a red silk tie and checked the shade complimented the handkerchief. A pair of navy, fitted trousers and leather brown loafers completed the look. Freshly shaven and hair styled into place, I dabbed on my Creed Aventus eau de parfum. The smell of success and money I'd linked to my brand.

Today those receptionists downstairs, the whole department even, were going to realize that I wasn't a fucker to piss off. A few bad eggs normally meant that the whole department had a few more sneaking within the cracks, too. I wasn't tarring them all in the same brush, but I could easily make a snap judgement and recommendation on their ethics, just through their reactions to my presence. Working for me wasn't like a game of cards, you couldn’t pick when to act the part and not. You either showed you were a member of the trusted 'RP' branding through and through, or found another company who would accept that type of work ethic. If they thought I would take that type of bullshit they were sorely mistaken. Yes, these chancers may have understood Tye's persona, but I was a different caliber altogether.

If a job needed to be dealt with, I was the man for the job, not scared to bring out the big guns – hence why Tye fixated more on the financial aspect. That was apart from New York. It seemed today was going to be one of those fun type of days as I rubbed my hands up and down my trouser legs before I cracked my knuckles and grabbed my briefcase in my hand. The smell of the leather wafted up my nose.

I opened the door wide with my keycard in my hand. I’d need it for the ride in the elevator to the boardroom. I turned back to take a quick glance around the penthouse before leaving. It was everything I had dreamed of and more as the view through the windows shone back at me. Pure sex on legs.Today was going to be a fantastic fucking day.

I closed the door behind me with a spring in my step, excited to see the reaction from these so-called trained professionals.

Oh, this was going to be fun.

I’d booked the largest conference room and took a seat at the head of the long table. I leaned back in the chair, noticing they all desperately needed replacing, whilst awaiting everyone’s arrival. I would have to send an email to Candy later, to organize the delivery of some of the overlooked details I’d noticed that should’ve been dealt with. It seems like a lot of the small things had been overlooked. I’d wanted the employees to have the same standards and this wasn’t it. That was changing now. A full inspection would be taken, and every discrepancy found would be listed. This was meant to be a luxury branch in all aspects – employees included. I wasn't going to be known for cutting corners at the first chance I got. I don't understand why Tye hadn't seen these issues on his last inspection check? A niggling sensation ran in the back of my head.

A knock at the door alerted me to my intended company's arrival. A shot of excitement ran through my veins. Nerves only came into play when a sense of unease ran through me. “Enter,” I said out loud, watching the chrome handle descend down and the door open up. “Go and find a seat, quickly.”

I lounged backwards in the chair with my hands splayed behind my head and the sleeves of my jacket to rise upwards. I ushered everyone inside with a huge smirk across my face with the attempt to make them question my reasons for commanding them here.

The whispered voices that surrounded me as the group walked in made my dick hard. Power and control oozed through my body as I rolled my shoulders back and held my form tall. I looked around the room and took a few extra moments to stare at Georgia, Laura, and Gaz, not missing the redness that formed on the girls’ cheeks or the way they slowly cowered away into the back corner.

“Isn't that…” Georgia started talking slightly louder than intended as I darted my eyes at hers for a second. I grabbed my briefcase off the floor and slammed it loudly onto the desk.

“I don't take kindly to interruptions.” I lifted my gaze to hers directly. Georgia struggled to hold the contact as all voices immediately silenced around us as they took in the showdown.

“I'm sorry,” she uttered as I nodded. I hoped she had started to piece together the pieces and the error of her ways, realizing her place in this company and who held the authority. That her school girl error could cost her. I hoped deep down she was panicked at the thought of where she stood as I was hard as steel at the fact that I was about to see these people crumble before my eyes. Sadistic maybe, but what other pleasures did I have?

I dropped my head and focused my attention onto entering the numbers into my briefcase combination lock. The golden engraved clasps popped open, and I lifted the lid so I could grab the files I had requested Candy send across late last night and placed the documents on the table.

I took my time and got comfortable, not giving a shit at the sets of eyes and twitching fingers in front of me. If anything, it made me want to delay talking longer. Their squirming added to the thrill. I sat back into the chair and leaned back, not letting them see my discomfort. My hands interlocked into each other, tapping the knuckles with my fingers in a solid beat.

“Good morning, everyone,” I commanded the room, finally deciding to break the deafening silence. “It's finally great to get this introduction out of the way.”It wasn't but no one needed to know that.

A hand shot up in the air disturbing me and a couple of colleagues nudged her to bring it down quickly, but it wouldn't have mattered. My eyesight was near perfect.

“Yes, Miss… Mrs.?” I smirked as I slid my chair forward under the desk. I quickly rearranged myself in my trousers, loving the fact she dared to interrupt me.

“Miss Askley, Tonya please…” she stuttered. “I'm just wondering where the other guy is. Mr. Renton, is it? We haven't seen him for a while?”

A guy to her right jumped in. “He cancelled the last department head meeting, too.”

I quickly looked at the folder and opened it, glancing at the names staring at me. Bingo! The only male head of the department.

“Ah, Mr. Sommers…” The man’s jaw dropped wide open before he quickly gathered his composure.

“Michael, please,” he cut in as I glanced his way and nodded.

“Michael. Here is my assistant, Candy Lancaster's details.” I stood up and walked around the edge of the large table, walking behind all the pulled in bodies on chairs until I reached Michael. “If you contact her directly, I will ensure all that needs doing is arranged prior to my return to London. Now, as I was saying…”

I turned around, rearranged my tie and recentered myself, bottling up the unease into the back of my head and continued with the original plan in place. The negative energy that had appeared would not help in the slightest. This company and takeover were days away from full completion, these immature mistakes shouldn't be happening. Maybe with a small time firm but not one with six hotels underneath their belt. Fuck that shit.

It was time to stop beating around the bush and to knock these wannabes back into the line they should already be following. Some would be under probation; some offered a good redundancy payout. Either way, it would be sorted right now. I would make sure of it personally, from here on out. Time was money and that was of the essence. Enough of it had been wasted and now I wanted my return.

“My name is Dawson Parker. Joint CEO of the 'RP' group and one of the new owners alongside Tye Renton, who you've already met.” I lifted my eyes to the three in the corner. “After my arrival yesterday, I think my timing here was pretty damn perfect, to say the least.”
