Rick rolled us over and positioned himself between my legs. “I can’t let you do all the work,” he said, then entered completely.

Panting, I reached out for him, trying to pull him to me. Instead, he cupped my breasts and pinched my nipples as he entered me repeatedly. I closed my eyes, gripped the sheets, and lifted my hips to meet his.

Fuck, yes.

“Oh, sweetheart, I…can’t…” he growled out.

“Give me what…I…want,” I said breathlessly.

His body pounded against mine as he fucked me harder. Then I felt him tense just before my own body began to shake with yet another wave of release.

“Rick…I….” I lost control and couldn’t speak as the waves continued.

When he collapsed on top of me, I lay there stroking his back enjoying the feel of his weight on me as we both slowly came down from the heavens.

He went to move, and I held him tightly. “Not yet. I don’t want this to end.”

Rick raised his head and looked me in the eye. “Valentina, this is not the end. This is our beginning.”

He kissed me, and I knew he was right.

“I love you, Rick. I’ve always loved you,” I admitted.

“Thank God, because I have no idea what I’d do if you didn’t. You might not know it, but you’ve always been my strength, my reason, and my life. Even if I wasn’t here, I always carried you with me in my heart.”

I’d dated but would never let anyone near my heart. It had been reserved for Rick. Holding onto it until he returned. And now everything is the way it was always meant to be.

“I never thought I’d say this, but I’m glad my daughter lied and tricked me into going on that singles’ cruise. If it hadn’t been for that, we might not have crossed paths again.”

“Valentina, I have learned that some things are destined to be. You and me together? That’s one of them,” he said.

I was about to agree when there was a knock on our cabin door.

“Good morning, you two. This is your wakeup call. I expect you to be at breakfast in ten minutes,” Abby’s cheerful voice sounded through the closed door.

Really? Don’t you know we’re on our honeymoon?

“No excuses. Get dressed or I’m going to bring everyone back with me, because I can’t share this news without you guys being there,” she added.

I looked at Rick and mouthed, Sorry. Then louder I said, “We’ll be there.” Reluctantly.

“I guess that’s our cue to get up and shower,” he said.

“A quick one, because I really believe she’d drag them all to your cabin,” I said.

He kissed me. “Our cabin. This is the honeymoon suite. It’s not mine or yours. This is where we become one.”

I had no idea when Rick became so damn romantic, but I liked this newer, more mature version of him. Some things really do get better with age.

“If you keep looking at me like that, we’re not making it to breakfast,” I warned.

“So, telling you that we should shower together to conserve water won’t work, will it?” he winked.

I said, “We’re down to eight minutes. That won’t even cover foreplay.”

He gave me a light slap on the ass and left me on the bed. Why couldn’t we have planned to meet for lunch? I wasn’t sure that would’ve worked any better. We had a lot of lost time to make up for, and there was no place I’d rather be than in Rick’s arms.

Whatever she has to say, better be important.
