“No. And you don’t want to hear about him either. God, the man was so boring, I thought I’d fall asleep. I never knew someone could talk for an hour about neckties.”

“Ties? Really?” I hoped she was joking but apparently, she wasn’t.

“Unfortunately, it was the date from hell. The only good thing about it is he thinks I’m too wild for him. I think a caterpillar would be too exciting for him,” she chuckled.

“Yeah, maybe we skip talking about Bobby. I want to be awake for at least part of the night,” I smiled. “Speaking of which, if you don’t get out of my truck, I’ll never get off work and you won’t get dinner.”

Lizzy climbed down from the truck, and before closing the door she said, “Be safe out there, Joyelle. Don’t take chances. It’s not worth it.”

I was lucky to have a friend like Lizzy. “I promise,” I said, and gave her a wave and started the truck. Just one last vehicle tonight, and then I’d be done for the weekend.

Please let my day end better than it started.
