“You should’ve. With Mother and Father busy with her parents, it opened the door for the ladies. But don’t worry. I’m sure they are giving her more advice than they are getting information. By the way, why didn’t you ask Shanda and me to go camping? Shanda loves nature,” Kenneth said.

“Next time I’ll invite you guys.”

Andrew and Phillip joined us.

Andrew asked, “Where are you inviting him?”

“Camping,” Kenneth said.

“And why not Anne and me?” Andrew asked.

“Or Linda and me?” Phillip added.

Jerry chimed in as he approached. “What are you all talking about?”

“We’re all going camping. Do you and Reanna want to join us?” Kenneth said.

Jerry nodded. “That sounds awesome.” Jerry called out and asked, “Hey, Reanna, Richard’s planning a huge family camping trip for us all. Want to go?”

I could kill him.

Reanna gave a thumbs-up in agreement, and all the other ladies did as well, especially Joyelle. But as I looked around there, unfortunately, our parents looked slighted. My mother never wore jeans, and she would be a hundred times worse in the woods than Lizzy had been. Looking to my brothers I asked, “Who wants to be the one to break the news that they’re not invited?”

Phillip said, “The price of being the eldest. I’ll be right back. Don’t plan anything until I return.”

I wasn’t really planning this.

Clark came over and asked, “Am I included on this trip?”

I looked at him and said, “It looks like couples only. I’m sure Joyelle can ask Lizzy again.”

Clark raised his hands and said, “Sorry. I’m busy that weekend.”

Kenneth said, “We didn’t even plan a day yet.”

Clark laughed. “I’m still busy. Besides, someone has to be here for brunch with our parents.”

If that didn’t say Clark and Lizzy weren’t a match, nothing would. I looked back at Joyelle. She seemed so happy. I knew she’d fit in with them, but what still blew my mind was how perfectly she fit with me.

With our eyes locked, I gave her a wink. She blushed, and I knew she’d been talking about me.

God, I love you.

It was the first time I’d admitted that to myself. Tonight, that was going to change. I wasn’t just going to show her how I felt, but I was going to say the three words I never thought I’d utter.

I love you.
