“Clark, you might not have said the words before, but you’ve been showing me all along. I’ve never felt so special in my life. Never felt so loved. I’ve never been so happy. I love you so much,” she said. Tears started running down her cheeks and she said, “I’m…crying.”

“You are. Happy tears, I hope?”

She smiled and said, “I’m really crying.”

“I know.”

She wrapped her arms around me and said, “Thank you, Clark.”

“For making you cry?” I asked, puzzled.

“For loving me just the way I am.”

I kissed her forehead. “Wouldn’t want to change one thing about you. You’re perfect just the way you are. Now I have one last question.”

“What is that?” she asked.

“How hungry are you? Or can we skip dinner and start with dessert?” I grinned.

“Food and sleep are both overrated,” she smiled.

As I carried her to the bedroom, I felt deep hunger. Not just for her body, but for her love. The one thing I’ll never get enough of.

I kicked the door closed behind me, laid her on the bed among the rose petals, and allowed my eyes to roam over her beauty in awe.

“What?” she asked with a coy smile.

I grinned and said, “It’s amazing what you find when you just believe.”

She reached out for my hand and said, “Do you know what I believe?”

I shook my head, and she added, “That tonight is the start of a beautiful life together.”

She pulled me into her embrace, and I knew she was right.

I love you, PJ. Thank you for saving me from myself. You made this man with a reluctant heart finally believe in love.
