And she obeyed. Her mouth tightened around him, making Thane's balls clench. Peeling his eyes off Dahlia again, he checked Roarke, who had his jaw clenched as he focused on fucking this girl's pussy as hard as he could. There was nothing gentle about it, the man's pelvis slapping her ass hard. Thane could see her body rocking, taking him deeper, and it was almost too much. Jesus Christ, he was doing this, and damned if he didn't like it.

Then their little sex toy lost control. Pulling her mouth off Thane's dick, she mewled as her orgasm hit. But the cool night air on his previously warm, and now wet dick wasn't nice. Thane grabbed himself and pumped, refusing to lose the moment. For a split second, he thought about coming all over her face, but decided she didn't deserve that. He might be using her, but he didn't need to be an ass about it.

But before he could finish, Roarke was groaning, and then Mariela's mouth was back, forcing his hand out of the way so her own could take its place. Now without any distractions, she sucked his dick like she had a purpose, almost like she wanted to make sure she was memorable.

She wasn't, but Thane was so close, and he didn't give a shit about anything else. Lifting his eyes back to Dahlia, he managed to get three more pumps into the girls' mouth before his wife's back arched and she clearly faked an orgasm. The crazy thing was that it was hot. He'd seen her come undone before, so he knew she was merely done with her meal, and for some reason that turned him on more than anything else. Combined with the hand sliding over him faster and faster, it was all he needed.

Thane let his own climax take him. Pleasure hit, his eyes closed, and he grabbed the back of this girl's head so he could push deep into her mouth, feeling the pulses of his release as he lost control. Fuck, but that was good. It made all of this a little better.

And then he opened his eyes to find Dahlia looking at him, nothing but hunger in her eyes - and not the kind that meant she needed vitality. As Thane extracted himself from Mariela's lips, all he could think was that this wedding night might end up a lot better than he'd expected.

ChapterSeventeen

DAHLIA

Dahlia made it back into the club while Thane and Roarke were still helping their date put herself back together. It gave Dahlia enough time to thank her latest lover, let him know that she had no intention of going home with him, and then hit the bathroom for a little cleanup. After that, she made her way to the dance floor again, but Nikki was nowhere to be seen. A few of the other eidolon were, however. Most of them were still trying to get their next meal's attention.

Over by the bar, Thane was drinking. Surprisingly, Roarke wasn't the only one making sure he constantly had something in his hand. Cain had also appeared - and kept ordering shots. By the time Thane's eyes were getting glassy, a few others decided to join in on the fun. The wendigo, a vampire, and a siren were amusing themselves by playing drinking games with him.

Yes, she was keeping an eye on him. She couldn't help herself. She wanted to give him the chance to actually get to know a few other eidolon, but that didn't mean she wasn't worried. To start with, being dead made getting drunk a lot harder. It was easier to get the effects by drinking the blood of an intoxicated person - and that made her wonder what Thane's newest friends were planning.

So when the vampire started looking at Thane's neck a little too longingly, Dahlia decided to call it a night. Almost immediately, Nikki appeared at her side, and Roarke insisted they shouldn't walk home alone. Dahlia gave him a tired look, but Roarke merely pointed at Thane.

"He's a little heavy."

Right on command, Thane draped an arm over Roarke's shoulders. "Why aren't you drunk? I'm drunk. You should be drunk too."

Nikki just ducked her head and giggled. "You do know that if you screwed up Dahlia's wedding night, the valkyrie will kill you, right?"

"What's a little body death between friends?" Roarke joked even as he urged Thane to get up. "C'mon, big boy. Time to walk off a little of that."

And Thane was smiling like a fool. Oddly, it looked really good on him. Dahlia made her way to the hunter's other side, and Nikki hurried ahead to clear a path for them. Outside, the night had gotten cooler, and it seemed to be enough to wake Thane up a bit, but that only made him chatty.

"I had a threesome," he bragged to no one in particular.

Nikki giggled. "Oh, Dahlia, he's too cute!"

"I know!" she agreed, slowing down to let the guys move ahead a bit. Then, once Roarke had Thane talking about his wild night, Dahlia turned to Nikki. "I think that vamp was hoping to feed on him."

Nikki just grunted. "Look, it's tempting. He knows what we are. He knows why we do this. He understands, and that means no need to fake it."

"Vampire," Dahlia said again. "He didn't want to fuck Thane. He wanted to bleed him dry, and during the ceremony earlier, I heard some whispers. Not all the eidolon are happy he's here."

Nikki rocked her head in a slow nod. "Which actually makes sense. Look, he's an inquisitor! He brought spikes here! I mean, what the fuck was he thinking, Dahlia?"

"That I asked him to," she explained. "We still need a weapon if we want to fight back, and - "

"No." Nikki sliced her hand through the air. "Plotting and planning can wait until tomorrow. Today, you got married. Now, I know you're trying to act like that isn't a big deal, and it's just to protect yourself, but I've been hanging around you long enough to put a few pieces together." She reached over and gently rubbed Dahlia's back. "You like that guy."

"Yeah, but..."

Again, Nikki cut her off. "I didn't say love. I didn't try to erase the insanity that hit you in Dallas. All I'm saying is that you like him, you married him, and you deserve to stop thinking about all the rest and just pretend for a minute that this is a romantic moment. I mean, I know how marriages went back in my day. I can't imagine they were much different in yours. Little virgin girls told this would be so wonderful, only to realize that most men didn't give a shit about them."

"It wasn't that bad for me," Dahlia admitted. "Mostly it was virgin girls with no clue and young men who would be called boys in today's world."

"Mhm," Nikki agreed, "but that man gives a shit. He looks at you like you're the sun. He just married you, knows you fucked someone else tonight, and he's not pissed about it. However, I'm willing to bet that he's confused. He might even be scared, but he'd never admit it. Right now, he's drunk, surrounded by monsters who want to eat him, and he's doing it all for you. The least you can do, Dahlia, is admit that you might be a little scared too."

"Fucking terrified," she breathed.
