"Fuck no," I said. "He has my consent now. Just remind me that I'm playing the submissive, ok?"

"Promise," Wraythe said. "And choke that man on your dick the whole way home. He'll like it."

"Gonna bend him over the seat, shove his face in the leather until he can't breathe, and ride him instead," I decided. "He can suck me off next time."

"Good." Wraythe nodded once. "Means you'll see him again, and I like this one."

"Definitely a friend," I told him.

"Friend sounds good," Wraythe agreed, pushing away just as Thiemo returned with my drink.

Chapter 67

Nariana

It seemed that Zayr Horvat was a rather impressive man. He was also beautiful, had a voice that would've made my panties damp if I'd been wearing any, and couldn't keep his eyes off me. The moment our coats were gone, he didn't bother offering me his arm. Instead, he pressed his hand against the bare skin at my back, guiding me the way he wanted.

"I should warn you that tonight is as much a game for me as it is for you," he admitted when we reached a less-populated area of the club. "My brother is ready to disown me for the rumors going around. Thiemo intends to use your partner to make it clear that things aren't as people suspect."

"But are they?" I asked.

He chuckled, the sound like warm velvet, but his eyes dropped to the ground. "I think so. I've also never been in this situation before." Together, we headed for the left-most side of the open lounge these men called a "club." "I've been told you know all about it?"

"I do," I admitted. "Granted, the only reason he told us about you was because of the rumors."

Zayr just nodded, pausing us in the corner where no one else was close. "You should know that being seen with a woman makes my life easier. That you're a priestess prevents any complications - which is why I had to dismiss my last mistress."

"Pregnancy?" I guessed.

He huffed out a laugh. "No. I do know how to pull out." He paused, a moment of confusion crossing his features. "Never thought I'd meet a woman I could talk to this way."

I let my eyes run down his very attractive body, making no attempt to hide what I was doing. "I have a feeling that I've had as many lovers as you have, Lord Horvat. I promise that none of this is scandalous to me."

Zayr caught my chin and lifted my face until I was looking in his eyes again. "It's Zayr. The problem is that I like how brazenly you're able to talk about this. You see, that is why I'm still a single man. I wanted a lover I could talk to. I'm also very wealthy, considered handsome, and placed well enough for most women in Calseth to see me as a stepping stone, but I do not like to beused."

"Mm," I purred, leaning into his touch. "I guess that means I know who prefers to be on top now."

A delicious smirk twisted his lips. "Why do I suddenly have the feeling that you are not the kind to lie back and take it?"

"Because I'm not," I assured him. "I like to be thrown around. I find it sexy when a man is stronger than me. I also know exactly how to get what I want, and I'm able to do that from the bottom just as easily as the top."

"Oh, you're a lot more spicy than I expected," he murmured, sounding like he approved of this, yet he turned me so we could start walking again. "Although I can't say that I've ever been watched before." Then he tilted his head back to indicate Talin following us at a respectable distance.

"Personally, I like it," I admitted. "There's something about knowing the watcher is turned on that drives me higher."

"And yet that doesn't work for me," he countered, angling us away from a large group of men.

As we explored, more people had arrived, and the room was starting to get full. I recognized some faces, like the Baron of Compassion, but didn't know others. And yet, the group he'd just avoided all turned to glare at me. Their clothes were nice, and their presence here meant they were rich.

"You do realize that I come with complications, right?" I asked.

Zayr just chuckled, once again seducing me with the sultry tones of his voice. "They want to sneer at me for a rumor. They want to destroy you for the same thing. What better revenge could I get than proving that this woman they're all so scared of is the same one they're all drooling over tonight?"

Then he shifted over, putting himself partially behind me. His arm moved around my side, a gentle embrace from behind, but it allowed his lips to hover right beside my ear. That was when I realized what he was talking about. Those men who had glared at me were now lusting over me, and their eyes proved it.

"That dress," Zayr murmured softly, "is amazing. Tell me, is it as soft against your skin as I think it would be against mine?"

I leaned back and lifted my head enough to bare my throat. "Should I tell you just how it feels against my entirely bare body? Or would you prefer to check that for yourself?"
