My lips parted as I took in the scene unfolding before my eyes. The large room in the west wing was thick with debauchery. Niall grinned at me as he moved his lips down to the women’s neck, then released her into an unsuspecting vampire’s arms, catching her in time. “Princess.” He bowed at his waist, climbing his gaze to meet mine.

There was something cold in them, and unlike Sebastian, it was a darkness I didn’t want to play with. It felt dangerous. I attempted to reach out, to feel his emotions, but the same as the last time, his walls were built high. “You look beautiful.”

“Flattery doesn’t work on me.”

He grinned. “Noted. So, whatdoeswork on you?”

My breath caught in my throat as I sought the truth. “Kindness,” I decided. “Something you lack.”

He straightened his posture. “I’ve made a poor first impression. I’ll have to remedy that.”

“There’s no need. Really.”

“Yes, there is.”

“Honestly, you barely made an impression.” Kalon had me agitated, and it was slipping into every conversation since.

His shoulders tensed, and the loudness of the room pierced into my ears. I focused on Niall’s slow, steady breaths to numb the chatter and moans echoing around us.

“This club of yours. It’s…”

A loud gagging sound cut through my thoughts, followed by a woman’s voice. My words trailed into oblivion, and suddenly I forgot everything I had planned to say.

A naked vampire, with hair flowing out around him, lay upon the futon across the room as a woman forced another man’s mouth onto his erection. The man’s lips closed around his length, his gags growing less frequent.

The lady whispered in his ear as she twisted her auburn locks over one shoulder. “Go deeper. I want to watch when he comes in your mouth.”

The vampire on the sofa thrusted his hips up, and the woman forced the other guy’s head farther down until his lips were around the base of what was easily ten inches.

Fingers lightly touched the small of my back, lacing around my waist. Niall stepped up next to me, and I shuddered away from his grasp.

He smirked. “It’s okay if you enjoy watching.”

“I do not,” I said through clenched teeth. “Is he…”

“He’s doing it over his own free will. The couple frequent here often. The husband is our top member.”

I turned away from them when the woman started touching herself and glared at Niall. “This is weird.”

“Don’t kink shame, Princess.”

“That’s not what I’m….” I let out a heavy breath. “It just encourages certain behaviors.”

“Like?”

I placed a hand on my hip, adrenaline seeping into my veins. “Entitlement. These people think they can do whatever they want without consequences—like killing mortals.”

His expression hardened, the power behind his stare unleashed as he stepped closer, leaving mere inches between us. “You’re in our world now. Those people are your subjects, and when you deny them their pleasures and fetishes, all it does is push them to do them in secret. Shame leads further into darkness, so don’t come in here and act superior to any of us.” He flexed his fingers, then ran a hand through his hair, inhaling sharply. His gaze softened as she whistled out his next breath. “Respectfully, this is my club, and while you may not like it, no one here is harming anyone. Everything is consensual, and that is all that should matter. If you have an issue with us killing mortals, take it up with the king. I do not make the laws.”

I put a finger up to argue, but there was a minor flaw in his words. I chewed the inside of my lip, digging my nails into my palms until they left half-crescent marks on my skin. My father didn’t like secret clubs either, but he didn’t want to publicly get involved. Not with Kalon advising against it.

“Fine, but this club still creates division with the invite-only to only the most influential, as I’ve been told.”

He lightly booped the end of my nose, the corner of his thick lips curling. “Don’t be upset, Princess. If you want an invitation, you only need to ask. Normally, we only have men, but you’re different.”

The audacity of this prick. “I have no desire to be a part of this. Besides, like you keep saying, I’m a princess. I wouldn't need an invite if I wanted to be in any club.”
