Page 105 of His Reluctant Omega

Tensen stoppedoutside a dingy nightclub and stared down at the text his investigator had sent with a name and address to confirm he was at the right location. Along the stretch of road, there were multiple clubs—all alike, all with declarations they had the best omega dancers in the OQ.Dancers? The men weren’t there to see them dance.

He spied a couple of drunken betas stumble out and march directly to the next before entering Tensen’s target destination. He followed them, the pulsing beat of the music reverberating through his body before he’d stepped inside. Upon entering, he noticed the lights were dim and the music too loud. An omega danced on stage. Not particularly pretty, but the more he stared, the more he sensed the man likelyhadbeen before life had weighed him down.

After taking a seat at an empty table and scanning the interior, he focused on the show before him. He crossed one leg over the other, leaning back. Clad in lingerie, the omega peeled one long silky glove off before tackling the other. A server approached his table, a beta wearing only a tiny G-string.

“What’ll it be?”

“Nothing for me,” Tensen murmured.

The server pointed across the space. “It’s a two-drink minimum.”

Tensen followed that pointed finger and landed on the sign, declaring just that. He pulled out his wallet and handed the beta a twenty. “Bring me two of whatever.”

The server snatched the bill and was gone.

Tensen refocused on the omega twirling on stage. He noted the sly smile. The whip of the hip. More and more exposed skin as, piece by piece, the lingerie disappeared. A whisper of longing washed through him. Not much, but more than he’d expected. More than he wanted to admit. The omega met his stare and held it for a moment, running a long-fingered caress down one thigh. Tensen watched it travel, his cock twitching uncomfortably in his pants.

Like any other man, he’d experienced fantasies of being with an omega. Experiencing the differences between them and another beta. Was it the taboo? More than likely… everyone always wanted what they shouldn’t have. Including a man like him who kept his desires at bay.

The omega smiled at him, peeling off more clothing. Locking eyes, he suddenly felt as if the strip tease was for him and him alone. A twinkle came to the omega’s eyes… and Tensen had to admit he was more handsome than he’d first judged.

The whisper grew into a breeze, his cock thickening.

The server returned to his table, placing two drinks down before him, and breaking the connection.

He produced another twenty. “I’m looking for information. Perhaps you can help me.”

“Depends on what it is you want to know.”

“I’m looking for someone they call Tulla.”

The server snapped the twenty from Tensen’s fingers. “He’s on stage.”

Tensen glanced to the side, noticing Tulla had laid his sights on another patron. He snagged the server’s arm before the beta could get away.

“You asked a question, and I answered.Norefunds.”

He glared at the server. “How do I get a meeting with Tulla?”

The server chuckled. “Easy. Order a lap dance.”

“Where do I do that?”

The server pointed to a bouncer near the stage, a big burly beta. “Him.”

Tensen had never requested a lap dance in his life. He couldn’t say he’d never been to a club like that one, but that had been a lark while he’d been in college and he’d gone with a group of friends, young and dumb. What he’d seen there had shocked him to his core—he’d seen the cold detachment in each of the dancer’s eyes, even through their smiles and sensual dances—and he’d never been back. While his friends had gone wild with desire, he’d grown depressed watching the display.

It had been one of the reasons he’d gone into omega and family law. He imagined he could give omegas some other means, though he wasn’t sure how much better surrogacy was. It ripped those omegas apart, having to hand over their child.

Which was worse? Selling your body or your soul?

Finally, with Avery’s case, perhaps he had the chance to do something better. Make a genuine change. He scoffed. As if this case has a chance. It broke him that he felt that. He wanted to win, wanted Avery free.

Wanted Gray happy.

Gray…

He’d fallen in love with an omega he would never have. He should’ve known from the start that he wouldn’t win the man, even if Rohan hadn’t been in the picture.
