I hadn’t even realized I started walking faster, desperate to get to them, until Tommy chuckled, yanking me backwards.

“Patience,” he whispered to me, and Nik actually cracked a grin.

Nik had also changed significantly in the last couple months we had all been together. He smiled more, for one. And he actively engaged in conversations with both me and my men.

And Tommy.

They both refused to admit anything, but I’d seen the way they looked at each other. I was stupid, not blind.

Wait…

Nik snorted.

“Said that out loud?” I asked sheepishly, and both of my brothers nodded.

Finally, my legs carried me up the short staircase and to my men. I chanced a glance at the audience, unsurprised to see Tonya and Doc had joined Davis and Jared in the front row. Tonya was desperately trying to wipe away tears, but they came quicker than she could wipe. Even Doc had a lazy smile on his face. Jared held my cat - well, a cat that I claimed as mine but who hated me in return. The cocky asshole was purring, content to remain in Jared’s arms for all of eternity. Traitor. At least Mof was getting meat on his bones, the black cat no longer as scrawny as it once was. It was definitely my cat expertise. I was the cat expert...the cat whisperer.

Behind them were a few people we had met throughout our stay here. Scientists, mostly, and the people working on creating a cure. Maybe they weren’t the best choice. Maybe they weren’t the smartest. Maybe there was another facility a few states over that was closer than them to creating a cure. Maybe.

But our world didn't run on maybes anymore.

I caught my reflection in one of the windows and smiled softly. The dress was long and as white as mountain top snow. The top was intricately beaded leading to a cascading skirt. My brown curls were pinned away from my face, and I wore a light amount of makeup.

I felt so damn beautiful standing up there with my men. So loved. They looked at me like they had never seen another girl before, like they neverwouldsee another girl. It was me. And it was them.

It was us.

It was “I do.”

It was promises of love forever and ever. Through the good and bad, the fight and the win.

It was the tears and the laughs.

It was the trials and errors.

It was the “I love you” and the “shut the toilet seat.”

It was paradise.
