“Fuck, I can’t believe you,” Jensen said. Barreling forward, he ripped me away from Ian and spun me around, my skirts flying. He set me down hard and slammed his mouth down on mine, stealing what breath was left from my lungs with a hair-singing kiss. And when he released me, I couldn’t help but laugh.

Holy shit,I thought.Holy fucking shit! I’d just done it. I mean, it’d taken two weeks and a lot of help from the guys, Wolf, and Archer’s friend Hadrian, but I’d done it. Before we could celebrate too hard, though, Ian’s cell rang. He frowned as he worked it out of his pants and looked at the screen.

“What?” I asked.

He shook his head with a frown. “Unknown number.”

“Telemarketer?” I suggested.

He shot me a look. “Few people have this number, baby,” he replied.

“Then you should answer it.”

He nudged the four of us into a darkened corner of the club, a booth with curtains and a wide view of the rest of the area. Once we were settled in, he flicked the green button and put it on speaker, making me smile. I trusted him to not keep secrets anymore, but I appreciated the thought. “This is Marshall. Speak.”

At first, there was only the sound of heavy breathing, the deep inhales and exhales suddenly putting all four of us on high alert. My back stiffened and brows inched down as I leaned forward, and Archer and Jensen’s eyes narrowed on the phone in Ian’s hand. Before any of them could say or do anything, however, the caller spoke.

“Ian,” Wolf’s voice grated over the speaker, “I’m calling in that favor you fucking owe me. In fact, I’m calling in every fucking favor I’ve ever needed from you. We’ve got a big problem.”

As Wolf spoke, my eyes caught on something bright and glittery. I lifted my head, following it to the face of the red-dressed singer as she walked by. Her head turned at the same moment, and our gazes clashed. My focus zeroed in on the glittering diamond choker that had certainly not been there before. Cherry red lips parted as the woman smiled, and she winked before disappearing back into the crowd. I could have sworn the faint scent of roses lingered in the air. I didn’t know who she was, but that smile and that wink told me one thing.

Whoever she was, she had a secret … and it was a dangerous one.
