“So you do think that love exists.”

Her pale eyes slew my way. “I reserve the right to question it for me. But I do believe other people find love. Or a close approximation.”

I hold out a hand and she slowly rests her hand in mine. I draw in a deep breath when her skin touches mine and that frisson runs through my body. “I think that you’ll find your true love soon, princess.”

“I’m not looking for that.”

I nod and hold her hand, dragging her behind me. “Love doesn’t wait for you to find it. To give it permission. It finds you at the most inopportune time and place, sometimes with the least likely person that you can imagine.”

She doesn’t reply, just locks up. “Let’s get this over with, Romeo. Show me what you got.”

Boy, do I wish she was asking for something else right now. I wave her to my truck and walk behind her, subtly rearranging my aching dick in my tight jeans. Zippers are no joke when you’re so hard it hurts.

I help her in and run around the cab, sliding in, breathing deeply when her perfume teases my senses.

Her eyes glisten in the dark and she smiles slowly when the music fills the cab. I love country music and Reba’s crooning Fancy when the car starts.

“You don’t seem like a Reba guy either.”

“There’s a lot you don’t know about me.”

She snorts. But we drive in silence, a static electricity filling the air like the calm before a storm.

She’s the storm and I have a feeling she’s about to wreck me in the best way possible. I’m just going to hold on for the ride and hope that I can prove to this amazing woman that I’m worth her love. Because she’s already got my heart and soul held in her soft little hands and I don’t think she even knows it.
