Because there was no other explanation for why he hadn’t taken her straight to his bed by now and never let her leave.

She had an amazing body and an equally fantastic personality. She was kind, generous, loyal, and could move on the dance floor in a way that had him very intrigued.

He stood up, needing to retreat into the bathroom to pull himself together. It was going to make it very obvious in about two seconds how hot he thought she was and he did not need Lilly catching him with a hard cock. She would probably be terrified. Or angry. Or both.

She looked good in his T-shirt. Really sexy, as a matter of fact.

“All good?” he asked.

She nodded. “I had fun tonight.” She quickly yanked the bedding back and slipped under the sheets. “Thank you.”

“It was my pleasure.” He meant that a little too sincerely.

Before he could say something stupid, he retreated to the bathroom. He took his pants off and brushed his teeth. He had basketball shorts to wear given the situation. At home, he slept naked.

When he came back and got into the opposite end of the enormous bed, Lilly’s eyes were closed. It didn’t sound like she was sleeping, but she had turned the light on her side off and she was very still.

He took the hint and didn’t disturb her.

He tried to sleep but all he could think about was the way Lilly had danced at the club, hips undulating, eyes sparkling with pleasure, arms raised above her. An image of her moving over him kept intruding into his thoughts. Every time he shoved it away, he would glance over at her still form and picture what it would be like if her hips were moving with that kind of rhythm while she rode his cock. Arms up, hands in her hair. Breasts enticingly displayed in front of him.

Damn it. He was making it worse.

He’d known Lilly for years and had never once fantasized about having sex with her.

But until tonight he’d never been two feet away from Lilly in a big bed, while she wasn’t wearing pants.

Tomorrow at some point, before they entered this bed again, he needed to talk to Lilly.

Because this wasn’t going to work.

He could fake anything, but it was obvious to him he was actually attracted to her. He wasn’t sure he was going to tell her that, because it was doubtful that it would be mutual given how hung up she was on Sullivan, but he couldn’t just hang out with her and pretend something wasn’t brewing. He needed to nip this nonsense in the bud.

And she needed to sort out her business with Sullivan.

Liam turned onto his side, resolutely facing away from Lilly. He punched his pillow and cursed his age. When he was younger, he could have slept through anything. Stress, thunderstorms, sexual frustration, you name it. He would be out for the count. But now he didn’t sleep fantastic half the time as it was, and add in dirty thoughts and a throbbing cock, and there was going to be no rest for him tonight.

Lilly sneezed.

He’d known she wasn’t asleep. He wondered what she was thinking about and if it involved his dumb-ass son or if it involved him.

“Bless you,” he said.

“Thank you. Liam?”

“Yes?” He rolled onto his back to look at her. She was staring at him earnestly in the moonlight. The hotel room’s curtain wasn’t pulled closed all the way. The sliver of light gave him a perfect view of her face.

“I want to get a tattoo. Will you go with me?”

Huh. She wasn’t thinking about any man. She was thinking about ink.

Showed you what the hell he knew. “Of course. What kind of tattoo do you want?”

“Something to remember Kendra. I was thinking a breast cancer ribbon. But I don’t know. Maybe something more personal to her. I need to think about it.”

That touched him. “I think that’s a great idea. Kendra deserves to be remembered in a positive way.”

“I agree.” She smiled. “Goodnight.”
