Wordlessly, he rotates my body to examine my shoulder.

“You’re bleeding,” he says quietly.

I tilt my head and see a small graze from where the wood cut through. “Oops! That doesn’t look too good,” I laugh.

A strange expression crosses Nicks face, but he quickly suppresses it. “I’ll get you some cloths from the bathroom.” Within seconds, he returns with a damp flannel and proceeds to wipe the blood from my graze. I close my eyes and relish the warmth of his touch against my skin. “I’m sorry I hurt you,” he breathes. “I got carried away and didn’t mean to be so rough. Will you forgive me?”

I laugh again in an attempt to make light of the situation. “Nick, there’s nothing to forgive. I loved every minute of it.” I hesitate. “But what are we going to do about the wardrobe? I don’t think the hotel will be too pleased when they see what we’ve done. That furniture must cost a fortune to replace.”

“Don’t worry,” he replies. “The manager is an old friend of mine. I’ll write him a cheque, and that will be the end of it.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes. Now please, stop worrying.” Nick returns to cleaning my wound. When he’s satisfied I’ve stopped bleeding, he looks me over very carefully from head to foot, taking his time about it. Slowly, sensuously, he grips my hand and kisses my fingers, warming them with his soft, supple lips. Keeping his eyes on me, he places my middle finger in his mouth and sucks on it deeply.

Shit.

He’s completely skewering my senses. I close my eyes and feel a painful throb down below. I want him all over again. Without him inside me, I feel incomplete, like I’ve lost a body part.

“Are you sure you’re okay?” he whispers.

“Yes. I’ve never felt better.”

My heart flutters.I’m really starting to fall for this guy.

Holding me tightly, Nick leads me over to the bed, throws back the duvet, and guides me in. Plumping up the pillows, he helps me get comfortable, then switches off the lamp and plunges the room into darkness. I shiver with delight as he grabs me from behind and pulls me against his chest, wrapping me in a bear hug that makes me feel safe and protected. I love having his strong arms around me; love the feel of his firm chest pressed up against me. With a contented sigh, I snuggle into him and giggle as his cock brushes against my bottom.

I mouth silent gratitude to no one in particular.

I’ve never felt so at peace.

For long moments, I lie awake, blinking in the darkness, thanking Heaven and all the angels that I’ve met someone so wonderful. Things like this don’t happen to people like me. None of it feels real and I still can’t believe my good fortune. Yesterday I was living a lie; yesterday I was living in darkness. Now, it’s like I’ve been reborn. Nick is the Mr Right I’ve waited for my whole life, and I vow never to let him go.

Till death do us part.

With a low murmur, Nick shifts positions and slowly runs his fingers through my hair over and over again until I fall asleep.

The next morning, I’m woken by the sound of running water. For a second, I forget where I am. Everything looks strange. And then I remember last night, and a playful smile tugs at my lips. Turning my head, I see the space beside me on the bed is empty. Sounds from the shower tell me Nick’s in the bathroom.

Phew! He hasn’t run out on me.

With a happy sigh, I roll onto my back and gaze up at the ceiling, my heart beating so fast I think it will explode. Every part of me aches from last night’s physical exertions, and my nether regions are so sore it hurts whenever I move. But I wouldn’t change a single thing; I absolutelylove it.

The door to the bathroom opens and Nick appears, wrapped in a towel. His sleek, black hair falls about his face in little, soft ringlets and it’s a struggle not to throw my arms around him.

“Morning, gorgeous. Sleep well?” he asks brightly.

“Yes. I don’t think I’ve ever slept so soundly.”

There’s an awkward pause as I wrack my brain for something to say. I have a hundred questions but the sight of him has left me tongue-tied. Thankfully, a quiet knock at the door breaks the tension. Nick shoots me a look as he pads into the entry hall. For a few seconds, I hear him converse with an unknown woman, then the door closes and he returns pushing a trolley piled with food.

“Who was that?” I ask.

“The maid. She brought us breakfast. All part of the service, you know.”

“How lovely.” I yawn and then add, “By the way, what time is it?”

“Just after ten. We need to check out before eleven-thirty, so you’ll need to eat this fast.”
