I nodded, letting him know I did, my hand running over her hair. She was shaking in my arms, most likely going into shock. Standing to my feet with her wrapped around me, I turned to Tawney. “Can you take her stuff to your place? I’ll swing by some time and get it.”
“Of course,” she assured me, holding a crying Alex to her waist. I couldn’t begin to imagine how scared that poor kid was when he saw his friend get sucked under a wave, unable to find her bearings. Fuck, it had terrified the fuck out of me, and I hadyearsof training to deal with shit like this.
I strode up the beach, still whispering soothing words to my sweet girl. An ambulance was already waiting on us, EMTs getting ready to rush down the beach. “I have her,” I told them. “She’s not letting go of me anytime soon.”
They opened the back and helped me in. I sat on the cot with her still wrapped around me, gently soothing her so they could get her vitals.
This was about to be a long ass day, but I wasn’t leaving her side. She needed me; I was the only person she had. And I was her Daddy. I’dneverlet my sweet girl go.

By the timewe got home, Raleigh was irritable and extremely tired. Slater had given us a ride home, having stayed in Savannah until we were out of the hospital. And he was kind enough to stop at a fast food restaurant so we could get some food. I got Raleigh a kid’s meal and fed it to her because she was regressinghard. This was the lowest I’d ever seen her regress. My baby girl wouldn’t even walk.
When we got to her place, I carried her inside and to her massive bathroom. She sat on the floor and watched me as I started a bubble bath in her tub. “Tubbie?” she asked, looking up at me.
“Yes, baby girl. Do you want Daddy to take a bath with you?”
She nodded. After undressing her and then stripping out of my own clothes, I lifted her into my arms and eased us into the tub, settling her between my legs. Once the tub had filled enough, I held her while she snuggled against my chest, exhaustion pulling at her limbs.
It didn’t take long for her to fall asleep. I waited as long as I could before I gently woke her. “No, Daddy,” she mumbled. “Me sleepy.”
“I know, little one,” I soothed. “But Daddy has to dry you off so we can go to sleep. Let Daddy get you ready for bed, okay?”
She nodded. I lifted her out of the tub and somehow managed to dry her while supporting all her weight. Once she was dry, I carried her to her little bed, laying her beneath the blankets. After double-checking the locks and setting my alarm, I crawled into bed with her, pulling my sweet angel into my arms.
And then I silently thanked whatever deity had been watching over her today that she had survived.

Raleigh settled herself on my lap, wiggling her cute little ass on my dick before settling into a comfortable position. Honestly, if she wasn’t in little headspace, I’d grip her hips and grind her against me until she was begging me to sate that need deep within her.
But I kept a level head.
“You ready for breakfast, little one?” I asked as I scooped up a bite of eggs onto her spoon. It was orange with little lions all over it, matching her plate that contained her scrambled eggs and bacon.
She eagerly nodded her head and opened her mouth, allowing me to fork the eggs into her mouth. Her eyes moved to the TV, and I just continued feeding her, relishing in the fact that I was finally taking care of her asmineand not just as her friend.
She’d changed everything between us, and I wasn’t letting that slip away. I was claiming every bit of her that I could.
“Daddy?” she mumbled, glancing at me as she chewed a piece of bacon.
“We don’t talk with our mouths full,” I gently reprimanded.
She shot me a sheepish smile and swallowed her food before talking again. “Daddy, I want a bath. Will you take a bath with me?”
I pressed a kiss to her temple. “Daddy would love to take a bath with you, baby girl.” I gently patted her creamy thigh. “Get up so I can go start the water,” I gently instructed.
She bounded off my lap and bounced on her tip toes as I moved towards her massive bathroom. After starting the water, I undressed her, then undressed myself. Once we were both naked, I lifted her into my arms and stepped into the water, finally settling her between my legs. She immediately grabbed her toys and began to play, splashing me with water, but I didn’t mind.
I loved seeing her like this, finally getting the things she hadn’t gotten when she was a child.
Fuck her mom for neglecting her and taking away her childhood.
I shook that negative thought from my head and focused back on watching her. It didn’t take long for her smaller body to tire out. I tucked her close to me and dipped us a little further in the water. She leaned her head on my shoulder.
“Daddy?” she softly asked.
