I stood up. “Let me go grab my wallet and towel,” I told her.

She nodded. I rushed up the beach and smiled at Colwyn when he looked my way from his position on the golf cart. He was perfection. A little bit of gray colored his temples, and a five o’clock shadow dusted his jaw. His muscles were strong, his abs tight, his chest broad. I just wanted to curl up next to him and nap, but I knew that wasn’t allowed.

“I’m going to get lunch, Daddy!” I announced as I held up my wallet.

He smiled at me—that smile he only ever gave me—and my insides tingled. “Good girl,” he rumbled. My pussy clenched. “Nap time after, little girl.”

I eagerly nodded my head. “Yes, Daddy. Love you!” I called as I rushed off to Tawney.

Alex grabbed my hand and led me up the steps of the pier, already begging his mom for a hot dog.

When Colwyn got homethat evening, he told me to get a shower and get dressed for a nice date. I was too excited to ask for details, so I was happy that he had a dress and shoes picked out for me when I got out of the shower. By the time I was ready and had stepped out of the bedroom, I almost begged him to say fuck whatever plans he had because I wanted to devour him.

He was dressed in a pair of pressed black slacks, a white button-down shirt tucked into them, open at the neck. His dark hair was unruly as always, but he still looked good enough to eat.

When he parked and led me down the stairs to Alligator Soul, my heart melted. I’d always wanted to come here, but none of my past boyfriends would bring me, and Colwyn and I had never dated. I had to blink back tears that he’d remembered one of the things I’d always wanted to do.

“Reservation for Colwyn Jones,” Colwyn told the host.

We were led to a table in the back by a window with rocks right outside of it. He pulled my chair out for me, and once I was seated, he finally took his seat, ordering water for both of us when the waiter came to get our drink orders.

“You remembered, Daddy,” I breathed.

He reached across the table and held my hand in his. “I remember everything you tell me, little one.”

Another thing I really loved about Colwyn was that he wasn’t afraid of our relationship. He never batted an eye when I called him Daddy in public. He didn’t care who heard or where we were at.

“Will you order for me, Daddy?” I asked when I glanced down at the menu, overwhelmed by all the options.

He gently squeezed my fingers. “Never have to ask, baby girl.”

I smiled widely at him.

We talked throughout dinner—about his job, my store, Slater becoming full-time, Tawney and Slater’s baby. It was so nice and peaceful between us, just as it always was.

When our plates were cleared, Colwyn stood and then dropped to his knee in front of me. My eyes widened in disbelief. The entire restaurant fell into silence.

Was he doing what I thought he was?

“Raleigh Dennison, you’ve been the love of my life since I first laid my eyes on you. I want to spend the rest of my life falling asleep next to you and waking up with your beautiful face being the first thing I see.” Tears glistened in my eyes, wetting my lashes. “You’re the moon to my dark sky, the stars that light up my world. I never knew what I needed in life until I met you, little one. Will you do me the great honor of marrying me, of being mine for the rest of eternity?”

I nodded, too choked up to speak. He smiled softly at me. “Words, baby girl.”

I somehow managed a garbled, choked yes. When he slid the beautiful, seashell-cut diamond ring on my finger, I flung myself into his arms, giving him a kiss that most definitely wasn’t proper enough for a public establishment like this, but I didn’t care.

I was going to become Mrs. Colwyn Jones!

“I love you so fucking much, little one,” he whispered.

I sobbed, clinging to his neck, the weight of the diamond ring feeling absolutely perfect on my finger. “I love you, too, Daddy,” I cried.

Everyone was still applauding us, but I barely even heard them. All that mattered to me was this man—my fiancé, my future husband.

“Take me home, Daddy.”

He stood from the floor with me in his arms and carried me out of the restaurant, a wad of money already on the table that I knew would more than cover the bill.
