“See ya tomorrow, I guess, neighbor.” Steve smiles bashfully, jutting his chin in silent farewell as he starts his truck and drives the ten feet to his driveway, making me smile to myself.

We wave goodnight, and I make my way inside my new home for the night. I move from room to room until I find the right spot.

My new bedroom has the perfect view of May’s bedroom window.

I can’t see in, but just knowing she’s a few feet away is better than nothing and probably way safer than me spending a night in the same house as her.

My need for her is still so strong and the pole in my jeans is soon pitched under the sheets.

That and her sodden panties I never put down, hot in my hand by the time I do try and get the sleep I know won’t come tonight.

Holding them to my face, I breathe her in. Longing for her sweet pussy.

Craving the tight warmth of her, the softness of her skin against mine, those little sounds she makes.

I sigh loudly, reminding myself it won’t be too much longer. After all, we’ve come so far in just one day.

Well, May has anyway.

I wouldn’t call it sleep as such, but I close my eyes in between staring at the moonlight on the ceiling, wondering if it’s worth finishing this place or just offloading it.

However, Steve ends up taking the news about May and me. I’m unsure if I want to live on top of the guy.

He’s my best buddy, sure. But he’s changed a lot since getting older. And I’m not sure it’s for the better.

I think one of the reasons our friendship has endured is because there’s always been a safe distance between us as adults.

I was on the east coast, and he was all the way up here.

But I reason to myself that it should be May who can ultimately decide if she wants us to live here or not.

She might wanna stay this close to her dad, which I’d be fine with if that’s what she wants. As long as she’s with me, not much else really matters anymore.

And you’re gonna have her move in with you now, are ya? Like tomorrow?

I groan with frustration. I’m aching for May and the life I know we could have.

The life wewillhave. And soon.

With the cold, gray light of dawn peeking through the windows, I figure I may as well get up and do something useful.

Powering up my laptop, I start emailing the contacts I have this way, seeing if we can’t get some more business sent Steve’s way.

I could do so much more to help him if he wasn’t so stubborn about doing everything himself.

I could have a chain of auto shops exclusively servicing my own security vehicles alone.

But I know he’d never go for that.

And until I know where we stand on the May issue, I’m just trying to cut the guy a break.

If he’s busy with work, he’s far less likely to keep interrupting us.

“That oughta do it,” I proclaim, throwing my hands in the air after hitting send.

Pretty sure Steve will be run off his feet before lunch.

Here’s to hoping.
