“You bitch!” She yelled in my direction.

“Such-”

The King interrupted me. “You will not speak to your Queen that way.”

“Dad?” Her brows furrowed and tears sat on the rim of her eyes.

“You will apologize.” He demanded.

“I won’t.”

“You will.” He stepped forward menacingly.

“What has she done to you? To both of you?” She looked at Gage and reached up to touch his face. He shook his head quickly and grabbed her hand and slammed it back on the table. “Don’t touch me.”

She looked shocked, standing there unmoving.

I sat down, crossing my hands on my lap, “Now, if we could have our final dinner with Snow.”

“That sounds delightful.” The King moved to kiss me, so I stuck my cheek out.

“Dad?” Snow asked again, this time much quieter, almost pleading.

“Please stop calling me that. I am the King and you will address me as such. You are not my daughter. You lost that title when you attacked me and tried to kill the Queen before running away.”

“Wait. What? I didn’t attack you.”

“She’s so troubled, darling. Let’s not bring things up, she will argue about. I was trying to be nice and offer her one last meal… but she is just so ungrateful.”

“You are going to kill me!” she snapped. “Da- King. Are you ok with that?”

“After what you have done, it is the only solution. We cannot let the kingdom think it is ok to attack the King and Queen without punishment.”

“Ah.” I clapped. “Here comes the food.”

Plated on a silver tray was a roasted pig with an apple stuffed in its mouth.

“I’m not hungry.” Snow chimed, staring at the pig.

“Such a shame. I thought it was your favorite.”

“How would you even know? You kept me locked up in a closet for the last fifteen years.”

“Come now, Snow. We don’t need the dramatics.” The King said, taking a bite of his food. “You should be grateful you had a bed to sleep in and food in your stomach. Many in the kingdom don’t have that and you threw it away like it was nothing.”

“Many in the kingdom don’t have that because of this evil bit- Queen. How can you not see she’s brought death and destruction to this kingdom ever since you let her step foot into this house?”

I watched the King, slipping my hand onto his lap.

Snow continued. “Have you not seen the trees, the bushes, nothing outside. The fields outside were blanketed in beautiful, vibrant flowers. The scents in the air sought after my kingdoms far and wide. Tell me when was the last time you have completed a trade with another that was favorable for this kingdom?”

The King just looked at her without speaking.

“I imagine it’s been so long you can’t remember. She has brought death into these walls. Did you know she killed your beautiful late Queen?”

I saw his eye twitch and jumped in. “That’s enough.” I said. “You’ve ruined this dinner long enough with your continued assault on me.” I hoped Snow had noticed. His one weakness that stupid bitch living in the dungeon.

“Gage.” I motioned for him to remove Snow.
