“There’s nowhere for you to go princess.” Gage said, walking slowly down the hall.

“No shit,” I muttered under my breath. What was I doing? I slowed to a stop and turned to face him. My only hope was bringing my Gage back because I couldn’t fight both him and the Queen.

I walked towards him, catching him off guard and spoke softly. “Gage.”

“Princess.” He said eyeing me, curiously.

“Please come back to me.”

“I’m right here princess.” He threw his arms out to his side.

“I’m not talking about you asshole. I’m talking about my Gage.”

He let out a low growl that reverberated throughout my chest. He was a menacing sight to behold.

“Do you remember when we were in that room?”

His brows rose, but he didn’t speak.

“Do you remember the things I did to you? The things you did to me?” I felt my stomach flutter at the memory.

“Ehh, I’ve had better.” He shrugged.

“Is that so?” I tried not to let the words sting because I knew he was trying to hurt me.

He nodded, eyeing me as I slowly walked around him, my heart beating with a mixture of fear and excitement. I gently put my palm on his chest, letting it rub up his shoulder and across his back as I circled him. It was a risky move, but I knew he was going to catch me and this way gave me a chance to break through to Gage.

“Are you a shark circling your prey little princess?”

“Do you feel like you’re my prey?”

He laughed. “Not at all.”

It was true. I could tell he didn’t think I was a threat, which was fine with me. It gave me more time to reach Gage.

I reached up to touch his face and he snatched my wrist, holding it tightly. “Not my face.” He threw my hand back at me.

I cocked my head to the side, but obeyed. I let my fingers trickle down his arm as he slowly turned his palm face up. “Gage. Come back to me.” I pleaded softly.

He chuckled. “It’s no use princess.”

“I’ll get him back.” I said, pressing my chest to his looking him square in the eye.

I felt a pull inside of me and wanted to feel his lips on mine. How crazy was I?

He leaned in closer as I let his chest push us towards the wall, feeling my heart start to pound through my chest. Our lips were a whisper of a breath close, but he stopped with his hands pressed on the wall above my head, caging me in. “Do you want me to kiss you princess?” His eyes hardened.

Feeling like the air had been sucked out of me, I ducked under his arm and moved behind him. This was not working.

He had an evil smile plastered across his face.

“What’s going on out here?” The Queen echoed.

“Nothing.” Gage said, casting a side glance at me.

“Let’s go! We don’t have all night!” She commanded.

Gage grabbed my arm, his grip noticeably lighter. I glanced at him but he didn’t look back, keeping his eyes straight on the door ahead.
