Adela closed her eyes. “Once. It lasted three seconds before I pushed his hand away.”
He squared his shoulders and felt his jaw clench. “Did that guy push himself on you?”
“No. It just didn’t feel right, so I stopped him. We’re still friends. Well, not friends exactly. Just former classmates, I guess.”
His heart leaped in his chest as it probably meant she truly was a virgin like he’d assumed. He considered it both a blessing and a curse since it meant he needed to go slow while his inner alpha male ego jumped up and down, happy as fuck that he would be her first.
There was no escaping this. Adela was about to be his. If not today, then whenever she would be ready for him.

She said it like she couldn’t wrap her mind around him taking any interest in her. It angered him how badly she thought of herself.

He didn’t know he had it in him, but the words just flew out of his mouth. If Zane or Reed heard him right now, he would never hear the end of it.

His knees almost buckled at the needy sound of her voice. He needed to keep his head in the game and think about Adela being different from the women he normally hung out with.

He swooped her into his arms and walked them over to an enormous rock standing slightly diagonally and halfway underwater. He laid her down on the dry part of the rock and pressed his lips against her throat.
She snaked her arms around his neck, pulling him closer. He joined her on the rock, hovering over her before pushing her legs further open with his hips.
