“Show some fuckin’ respect,” Demon said and nodded at Zeus in understanding.

Ronan understood in that moment that by saving Demon’s life earlier, Gwenn had won over the Enforcer. And since the Sgt. at Arms couldn’t take his eyes off ‘his baby girl’, he felt a bit better about Gwenn meeting the rest of the MC.

Gwenn could hold her own.

Easily.

It wouldn’t hurt to have these two officers of the Iron Vikings MC on her side, though.

“Okay, Devlin is two minutes out with the van,” Wolf said.

“Good,” Demon said before he gave the Hank another blow with his boot that knocked him unconscious.

“Can you take him outside? I want to talk to Gwenn for a moment,” Zeus said.

Gwenn’s sky-blue eyes widened before she slid a proverbial mask over her expression. “It’s okay, Ro. I’ll be right out,” she said when Ronan stepped up next to Gwenn.

“Just so you know; she’s not only my woman’s sister, she’s also Devlin’s sister,” Ronan said to Zeus before he left them behind. He wanted to bring Zeus up to speed before he would do something stupid and mess around with another brother’s sister.

“You’ve got to be fuckin’ kiddin’ me,” he heard Zeus say.

Ronan walked out of the warehouse and met Devlin at the side of his van. The unconscious Hank already lay in the back and Zion closed the door.

Devlin flicked his pack of smokes to grab one of the three cigs piling out. “Who’s this G.I. Jane chick I hear Wolf go on about?”

He offered one to Ronan, but he declined.

“It’s your half-sister Gwenn.”

Devlin knocked his fist against his chest while he coughed up his first inhale of smoke. “Shit.”

“Yep. Not exactly the family reunion you had in mind, eh?” Ronan said around a humorless laugh.

“Is it true? Did she save Demon’s ass tonight?”

“She’s been saving asses for a long time now, Dev. Tonight is nothing special, I can assure you.”

He knew that several of the MC members were listening in on what he was saying about his partner. Well aware she was a diamond in their sea of muddy rocks. The only thing that he hadn’t anticipated was Gwenn’s attraction to Zeus.

She had tried to hide it, but he saw. For the first time in knowing her for over two decades, he had discovered that Gwenn Ryan had a tell.

She had ducked her head the tiniest bit when she made eye contact with Zeus.

It had made no sense to him. She had looked criminals and even killers straight into their eyes without blinking. She had even stepped up to Demon so she could participate in his stare-off. But with Zeus, she had ducked her head for a miniscule second when they stood toe-to-toe.

Gwenn strode out of the warehouse with angry steps, Zeus following her close behind.

“Oh, shit.” Ronan knew that look on her face. Zeus must have said something stupid.

“Let’s go,” she spat at Ronan while ignoring everyone else on her way to Ronan’s truck.

Ronan gave Devlin an apologetic smile. “I guess your happy reunion is going to take place tomorrow after all.”

“I can’t wait,” Devlin chuckled, and he checked the door to the back of his truck.

Demon jerked his head at Ronan. “We’ll take it from here, Ro. I’ll let you know if Hank had anything to say about you.”

“Thanks, Demon. Appreciated.”
