“Alright, alright,” she started, her voice low. “Let’s just say that whatever dirty things you’ve ever imagined about Parker?Better. Much, much better."

"C'mon, you can give me better than that. Details! He's such a sweetheart – is it all romance and sweet nothings in your ear?" Joey sighed. Paige barked out a laugh.

"Um, I don't think sweet is the word I would use for the things he says in my ear," she laughed.

"Ooohhh, dirty talk? Would not have expected that from my guy!"

"Look," Paige said, standing upright and leaning close to him. "I don't kiss and tell. All I'm gonna give you is he's rough, and hard, and filthy, and he plays my body like it's an instrument he's been practicing his whole life. And that's all you get."

"See!? That sounds awesome! You know I can just get the dirty details from Park," he threatened with a laugh.

"No you can't!" a voice called out from above them. Paige sighed and looked up. The second floor terrace jutted out over the pool. A thin line of smoke trailed away into the air.

"Goddammit," she chuckled.

They got out of the pool and headed inside where Parker met them downstairs. After changing into real clothing, Paige made them all salad. Joey stayed and talked for awhile but had to leave after about an hour, promising to meet them for dinner. Paige walked him out, laughing as he did a ridiculous impression of her dancing. She shoved him out the door.

"You know, I don't like most people, but I may be in love with him," Paige joked, walking back into the living room. Parker was sitting on a sofa, his arms folded across his chest, his head tilted over the back and his eyes closed.

"Mmm. So all I have to do is wear designer clothing and fawn all over you?" he asked. Paige slapped him on the forehead as she walked past him.

"Shut up, he's a nice guy," she said, plopping down on the couch.

She stretched out her legs, putting them in Parker's lap. They were silent for a while. They'd been able to get back to that comfortable place where they could be silent with each other for hours on end, and not feel tense or awkward.

Paige picked his phone up and began messing around on it. He'd shown her the basics of using it, and how to access a couple games. Most had seemed too stupid or too complicated to her, but she could handle Tetris. She was blasting through lines on level eight when his phone vibrated in her hands. A picture of a girl's crossed eyes popped up, a phone number scrawling across them. Paige was just noticing that the eyes were hazel when Parker snatched the phone away.

“Hello?” he answered, glancing at Paige. She made a face.

“Is that your sister?” she asked. He waved his hand to shush her.

“Yeah, Pen ... Yes, I’m listening, go ahead,” he said into the phone.

“Can I say hi?” Paige asked. Parker looked at her like she was crazy, shaking his head vigorously.

“No, no, Pen. Nothing. What’s up?” he went on, standing up and dumping Paige’s legs on the floor before walking around the couch. She scrambled onto her knees and peered over the back of the sofa.

“Have you told her we’re living in sin yet?” she asked loudly, her voice echoing through the large house. He whirled around to glare at her.

“No, that was nobody, just a drafty breeze, continue,” he urged. Paige chuckled evilly and pulled herself over the couch. He continued glaring at her before turning his back. “Whatever is fine, Pen, just tell my lawyer to take care of it – whatever they want, it's a yes. I don’t want to drag this out.”

Paige reached her arms around him, pressing her hands flat on his stomach. He jumped a little and she dragged her fingers to his sides, running them from his armpits to his hips. He jumped around, trying to escape her reach, but she kept locked around him. He made snorting noises in his nose, trying to keep from laughing.

“Ah ha ha, yes, yes, I understand ... I will, I promise ... Soon, Pen ... No! Why would you ask that?” he asked, barely containing his laughter. Paige slid under his arm, keeping her arms around his waist. She leaned forward and bit him on the chest. He put a hand over her face, trying to push her away. She didn’t even try to contain her own laughter.

“You’re being very insensitive, you know,” she snorted, her voice all nasally as her nose was squashed under his hand.

“You’re being insensitive, stop!” he hissed. “What? ... No, not you, Pen ... Yeah, yeah ... Look, I’ll call you back tonight, alright? Gonna meet Joey for dinner ... Of course, I’ll tell him ... Nice talking to you, Pen ... Love you, squirt,” he said, pulling the phone away from his ear.

“You didn’t even let me say hi!” Paige complained, letting him go and turning around, bent over laughing.

“You're dead,” he threatened, dropping his phone on the couch. She stood up, wiping at her eyes.

“Oh, I’m so scared. I can’t get over how ticklish you are,” she snickered. He wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, picking her up. She started laughing again as he shook her up and down.

“You should be scared. You should be horribly, deathly afraid of me! I’m a big scary man!” he yelled in a baritone voice. She laughed harder, holding onto his arms.

“You’re making it worse, stop it, I can’t breathe! I'm gonna pee!” she gasped. He stopped shaking her but didn’t put her down.
