Doing my best not to wake her, I tried adjusting a little to ease the sensation only she could create, and so I wouldn’t pounce on her like some wild animal. She brought out the beast in me and my hunger for her never went away.

But I obviously hadn’t done so good at hiding my reaction.

“You going to do something about that weapon of yours poking me in the stomach?” she asked. I could hear the laughter in her voice.

Grabbing her, I flipped her over and tucked her under me, tickling her playfully.

“Landon!” she screeched.

“You asked for it,” I told her.

And then I pounced.

ChapterThirty-Two

ALLEY

I was getting kickedout of the house for the day.

Looking at the cream-colored walls, the smell of fresh paint floating to my nostrils, I took in the room we had started for the baby.

Our baby girl.

We had found out a few days before and Landon immediately started painting. He also asked if we could go with a neutral color on the walls and if I trusted him to know what was best. That’s when I realized I did trust him completely and not doing so two years ago was foolish of me.

Insecurities are a bitch.

Even if he was bossy, demanding, overprotective, and more, just like I’d known he would be. The man wouldn’t let me even paint; he did it all himself. If I wanted to paint, I would have, but I hated that shit, so I let him have his way on that one.

His behavior also came in handy when I had a craving in the middle of the night. The poor guy didn’t have a clue that I had him wrapped around my finger. Or maybe he did and just didn’t mind. A smile tugged at my lips. I had a feeling the little girl inside me would have her daddy wrapped around her finger as well.

So, trusting him meant I had to leave for the day and let him work on the surprise he had for me. It was as good a time as any to do lunch with the girls, and if I found more baby stuff while I was out, who could blame me?

“Hey, you,” Landon’s husky voice said as I felt his arms wrap around me from behind and his palms rest on my tiny baby bump.

It was small, but neither of us could seem to stop touching it.

“Want me to drive you over to Jurnee’s?”

Here we go again.

He seemed to think I couldn’t drive either, which earned him an eye roll.

“Nope, I’m taking my truck,” I told him, twisting around in his embrace to face him. Then I counted to three in my head, knowing the protests were coming.

“Alley, that thing is a monster and so high. You—“

Laughing, I cut him off as I grabbed his lips with my fingers and held them closed.

“Zip it. I’ll be just fine. I am still capable of getting in and out of my truck.” I let go of his mouth but started talking again before he could. “You can either stand here alone or walk me out and kiss me goodbye. Your choice.”

And then I walked out of the room, a little extra swing of my hips, knowing he would follow.

He couldn’t resist kissing me, much like I couldn’t go without his mouth on mine either.

“Let me help you down,”Kace said as he approached my driver’s door I just opened.
