Lightly wrapping my arm over her stomach, I pulled her back into my front, where she fit perfectly against me. She mumbled, and burrowed closer, but didn’t wake up. I inhaled and breathed her scent into my lungs, my heart pounding with love, and let myself drift off to sleep.

Wrapped around the girl that meant everything to me.

ChapterThirty

TEAL

He felt like heaven.

His body heat blanketed me, one strong arm wrapped protectively over my middle, holding me in the circle of his embrace. It made me feel cherished and safe. But as my mind became more aware of where we were and pulled in images from what I assumed was the previous day, embarrassment flooded through me.

Slightly raising my head I glanced at the clock on the nightstand that illuminated a soft glow, the only light in the room, and groaned. It was three in the morning.

I’d fallen asleep on Kace.

After the shooting, I felt shaken, scared, mad, and vulnerable. Once I got in the shower and the warm water had washed over me, every feeling swarmed me and I had broken down. Which is how Kace found me. When he stepped in, not a single care in the world about his clothes and sat down with me, everything inside me dissipated and new feelings took their place.

Desire. Happiness. Love.

So I threw myself at him. Something I never expected I’d do with any man. But Kace wasn’t just any man.

He wasmine.

Alley would be so proud of me for admitting that, I thought to myself and a small giggle escaped, causing my belly to jiggle where Kace’s hand rested.

“That sound and your beautiful body against me is how I’d like to wake up every day for the rest of my life,” Kace said against my ear, sending goosebumps racing up my spine and my heart to beat out of control.

I sucked in a quick breath and pictures of what he proposed flitted through my mind of us, as we grew old together, making things I had only dreamed of feel like they could come true. He wasn’t proposing though, but everything he said made me believe he wanted me and Denver in his life.

Not for a short time, but for all time.

“You feel good next to me,” he added, kissing my shoulder tenderly.

Turning in his arms, I wished I could see him better, and take him in. “I can’t see you,” I blurted out.

Dropping his hand from my hip, he rolled to his other side and crawled out of the bed taking all his body heat with him, his masculine scent swirling in the air around me. Making his way to the other side of the room, he flicked on a lamp on the dresser, and I immediately could see.

Kace was devastatingly handsome.

He didn’t move. Standing stock-still where he was, he watched me take in his body from head to toe, his eyes dilating as I did. Desire built and an undeniable need to see all of him burned inside me.

“Take off your shorts.”

My command both shocked him and pleased him, which I could see as his eyes went wide and heated at the same time. He gave me a smoldering look as he grabbed his dark-gray, silk, athletic shorts and dropped them to the ground.

No boxers. He was bare as the day he was born.

And he was magnificent.

Thick muscled thighs, broad shoulders, a rippled chest, and then there was his cock, which grew as my eyes stayed glued to it. Kace was a large guy and he was well endowed down there as well. Thick, long, and getting bigger by the second. It was beautiful and I never wanted to see a penis again after my ex, but I could stare at Kace’s all day.

“You’re killing me, baby.”

Realizing he was letting me call the shots and wanted to make me feel like every decision was my own, I felt a little nervous but also empowered. I also fell more in love with Kace right then. He was so patient with me and understanding.

“Come back to bed,” I whispered. “I want to touch you.”

He didn’t waste any time and walked my way.
