“Yeah, there is still a lot more fun to be had, remember?” Summer winked at me when she said this.

“What was that shit for?” Alley asked Summer. “And don’t try and play dumb, I saw the wink.”

As Summer tried to play naive I was struggling to keep a straight face. Then Summer squealed as a pillow hit her in the face, this coming from Gemma and another pillow fight broke out.

Things started to calm down and we all lay around in our pajamas, half sick from all the food and junk we ate, in various states of sleepiness. I’d thought about Kace throughout the night but the intense need to see him before I fell into a deep slumber was on my mind.

“I’m just going to peek at the kids and then—”

Alley cut in, “Oh girl, go see your man. We all would be doing the same thing if ours were right outside.”

The others made noises in agreement and so I jumped up to do just that. Being quiet, I peered in at the little ones, and then with a zing of excitement at seeing Kace I headed back toward the front door.

When I opened it and found Kace standing right there I was shocked. How did he know? Then I looked over and saw Alley grinning at me. I mouthed, ‘Thank you,’ and she nodded her head.

Not wanting to wait for a second longer, I walked out for a goodnight kiss from my man.

ChapterThirty-Four

KACE

Girls werenothing but trouble when they got together.

I was sitting out front for about an hour after the party started when Braxton pulled up with his son Hudson in the car and five pizzas. Hudson was in heaven as he chomped down on a slice of cheese in my front passenger seat as Braxton stood next to my window talking.

“Dude, we were minding our own business playing Legos when the doorbell rings and a guy is standing there with all these pizzas in his hand. When I told him I didn’t order them, the poor kid, maybe sixteen-years-old, looked so uncomfortable and it was clear he thought he was going to get in trouble. So, I tipped him and took the pizzas. It dawned on me later that I probably had been had by my sweet little wife and a bunch of others.”

Shaking my head back and forth, I let out a deep laugh. I hoped my woman was having fun in there with all the shenanigans I knew those ladies liked to pull when having one of their get-togethers.

“Who’s idea do you think it was? My money is on your sister, she’s always the instigator.”

“I’m not betting against you on that one,” Braxton said.

Just then Gyth rolled up alongside us in his truck, along with his boy Dexter and I knew something was up.

“Let me guess you got a pizza delivery?” I asked.

“What the hell? I would have loved some damn pizza, I was hungry. We got a visit from some DoorDash delivery driver who had five half-gallon containers of different flavored ice cream from Baskin-Robbins.” Gyth rolled his eyes, reminding me of the very woman who I was sure set all this up. “When I realized what probably happened I threw them in a cooler with some ice packs and headed over here.”

“Daddy, I want some ice cream,” Dexter said.

“It would have served them right if the little man and I had stayed home and ate it all,” Gyth said. “We will get you some ice cream on the way home,” he told his son.

Then, the front door burst open and all the ladies stood there, devious smiles on their faces.

“Are you going to bring us our stuff or what?” Alley yelled. “We’re hungry!”

Braxton groaned. “Guessing my sister was the little shit who started this wasn’t even hard to figure out,” he said looking at me. But we all started laughing.

Gyth finally pulled in front of me and parked, taking his son from the truck. Braxton grabbed him from my car and with pizza and ice cream in hand we all walked up to the door.

“You can have your stuff, but us guys get to collect kisses from our women before we go,” Gyth said.

I looked over Alley’s shoulder straight into Teal’s twinkling eyes and could see she liked that idea. I couldn’t blame her, I’d been thinking about it the whole time I’d been sitting in the car. When I saw her tongue dip out and lick her bottom lip, it was my turn to groan. But unlike Braxton’s moments before, mine was laced with desire.

“First that's not fair, my guy isn’t here,” Alley said, her lower lip sticking out in a pout. “And second you all should probably let the newbies go first before they both combust.”

Teal’s face blushed a pretty shade of pink, but I agreed.
