"What's not funny?"

"You are not—"

"I can do whatever I want, thank you very much." I gave him a sweet smile and chugged down the rest of my wine. After handing him the glass, I leaned forward and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "You have a good night with your bimbo, Diana, and I'll have a good night with Chad. Ciao," I said and turned around and headed back to Chad. Chad was standing there holding his wine. He looked at me with a worried expression on his face.

"Is he mad at me?"

"No, he was just upset at me because he doesn't like me drinking."

"Are you sure? Because..."

"I'm sure, Chad. It's fine. He's my brother's best friend, so he's a little overprotective, but he just needs to know that I'm a grown woman. I can do what I want."

"If you say so, because he was looking at you like you were more than..."

"It's fine. So what are we going to do now?"

"What," he said, looking surprised. "You want to do something?"

"Yeah, let's have fun. Let's go paint the town red."

"I do know this little club..."

"Rosalie." I groaned as I saw that Oliver was back.

"Yes."

"I need to speak to Chad for a second."

"What?" I said.

"Give me two minutes, and then you guys can continue whatever you wanted to do."

"Fine," I said, rolling my eyes.

"Chad, will you speak with me over here, please?"

"Yes, sir." Chad nodded and followed Oliver to the same spot where I'd been standing. I watched Oliver say something to Chad very quietly. Chad nodded a couple of times, and Oliver smiled. I frowned. I had no idea what was going on, but I didn't like the fact that Oliver was smiling. It didn't seem like that was good for me. And then I watched as Chad walked away. He didn't even look back at me. He didn't even say goodbye as he walked to the other side of the room. I headed over to Oliver.

"What the hell?" I said. "What did you say to him?"

"Wouldn't you like to know?" he said with a smile. "Now, are you hungry? Should we get something to eat?"

Chapter15

Oliver

"What the hell do you think you're doing, Oliver?" Rosalie's voice sounded angry, and her lips were trembling. I just wanted to pull her into my arms and kiss her, but I knew this wasn't the time or the place for many reasons.

"I told Chad this was a work event, and he wouldn't like his managing partner to be told that he—”

"You what?" She grabbed my arm and tugged. "You did what, Oliver James?"

"I just told you what I did."

"How dare you? So you scared him off."

"I didn't scare him off. I told him the truth. You really want this boy to lose his job because you're trying to hurt me?"
