“Can you tell me anything about my sister? Like who she was hanging out with? Marcel said you might have Patrice and Becky’s phone numbers. I want to know who Shannon’s dealer was,” I said.

Tate pulled his cell phone from the back of his pocket and handed it to me. “Add your number, and I’ll text you their numbers when I get back to my place.”

I gave him his phone back after entering my contact details, when he said, “I’m sorry for your loss. I really liked Shannon. In those last months, she didn’t hang out with the band much. I think she met someone. It was about that time she started missing practices or arriving late to appearances. She was on thin ice, and we were about to fire her when….” he paused and swallowed hard. I watched as Adam's apple bobbed in his throat.

“Thanks Tate,” I said softly and was moving toward the door when his next words stopped me.”

“If you're looking for drug dealers in the Quarter, go find Virgil. I know he deals, but can’t say if he sold drugs to Shannon.”

“Any idea of his last name or where he hangs out?” I asked with a small glimmer of hope.

Tate shrugged his shoulders. “Virgil is around. I think he hangs out all over these streets. Last name is Williams.”

“Thanks, I appreciate your help,” I smiled and walked toward the exit sign near the dressing room door. The weather had changed while I was in the club. The night turned cloudy, and the air was thick. A storm was coming.

Chapter 12

Loki

Ragnarök on a Saturday night was crazy busy. We had a large group of tourists come to see the girl’s dance. They looked like the typical uptight suits who had families back home; they were probably accountants or dentists. But couldn’t wait to come out to the club to be all cool and collected when really, they were just drunk dorks, not sure how to act when their wifey was not with them. Not that I cared - our club perfect for that. Whether it was business or pleasure, Ragnarök was ready to serve your needs.

“Prez, I thought you went back to the Parish?” Taz asked from the security room door.

I looked over at him and smirked, “just checking out the feeds.”

“Or checking out a new waitress?”

Denny sat beside me and chuckled. He was our head of security, but like Malcolm wasn’t a part of the Valhalla Heathens. Most of the key players in the club were old friends of one of my brothers.

“Oh, did Ivy start tonight?” I asked nonchalantly. I’d seen her serving drinks in the Bifrost bar.

“Heads up, she asked to see Hel the other day.”

“You could have shown her,” I said.

“Didn’t have time, got a call to head out that day,” he said vaguely for Denny’s benefit. We didn’t talk about MC business in front of our staff.

“You get the feeling she’s hiding something?” I asked.

Taz quirked his brow. “Like what?”

“Not sure, it's just a feeling.” I stood up and said, “Denny, what time does Rafe get in?”

“He’ll be here in an hour. We’ve got a big card game starting at 10 pm.”

Taz and I went out of the room, closing the door behind us. “Are you planning on sticking around?” Taz asked.

“Thinking about it,” I mused.

“The brothers have a sweet party starting up at the Parish. Maybe you should bring Ivy out,” he smirked.

“And what makes you think I want her there or that she’d fit in?”

“Oh Prez, that’s cute.” Taz said over his shoulder as he opened the stairwell door and proceeded down.

Last call was just announced as I waited by the Bifrost Bar entry way. It was almost 2 am, and we’d be closing down everything soon. Occasionally, we’d stay open all night for a special gig, but none were planned. Ivy looked tired as she grabbed a few glasses off an empty table.
